Hello There, Wii!! 18th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
Wii and Vixey were my rescues way back in 2008. Vixey, a lovely black kitten, was a pygmy (in other words, she was retarded) and had brain degeneration. She lived for two years only. After Vixey passed away, the Cow & Bunny pair chased poor Wii out of the house (into the back alley). Wii lived there quite happily with Tiger as his only friend. Tiger would be in the backyard to accompany him.
Wii was okay until he started mewing whenever he came home for food, and this angered a neighbour tre...

Training The Cow Mau Not To Spray….(but Can It Even Be Done?) 18th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
Plan A was to use the air filter. The filter is good, but it could not remove all the smells.
Plan B was to paint the room. That did not quite work too. I think the urine had already seeped into the walls (in places which I failed to spot, or failed to wipe off immediately).
Plan C was to tile the room, and that has helped a lot as wiping the Cow Mau’s spray spots is made easier now. Hopefully, it’s cleaner too for surely his urine cannot possibly seep INTO the tiles, right? The day ...

Today, Margie collected another 6 bags of dogfood from our Food Fund, donated by Mr Ivan Soon of k9pets.com and transport charges sponsored by Rosie and Ginger in memory of Bosco.
The 6 bags of dogfood
Susan and Margie are feeding 20-3o dogs at a construction site in KL. We are helping with petfood and neutering subsidies, as well as publicising the dogs for rehoming as the building will soon be up and the dogs would have no where to go. If you would like to adopt any of these dogs, please con...

Dear Dr Chan,
Good day.
It would be very much appreciated if you could post these pups for
adoption on AnimalCare.
This pup was among a litter of 4 rescued at a road corner connecting
TTDI to LDP. I rescued them after a neighbor, who has been feeding
them, alerted me to their presence and asked for my help.
I took them to the Damansara Jaya vet and from his thorough check-up,
he concluded that they were free from pa...

The Kinabalu-6 (minus 2) Go Hiking! 15th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
Here’s what the Kinabalu-4 did yesterday – they went hiking!
From Hillary Kon:
Some days you just don’t feel like getting out of your bed. Today was one of those days for me. Nevertheless, since the four of us had already made plans to go together, I managed to drag myself out of bed. Peer pressure can do wonders to your motivation, hahaha. Mabel and I have always had a lack of stamina and since she just finished her major exams, she was considerably weaker than the rest of us. I o...

Many Community Dogs And Cats Have Gone Missing 15th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
For the past few weeks, we have received emails from feeders in various parts of the Klang Valley informing us that their community dogs and cats have gone missing. Some streets have been wiped clean of these community animals. Many of these animals are neutered ones too.
Here are three of the emails:
It is so disheartening to see that so many of our dogs that we are feeding are missing. Last week i went to the market car park to feed the strays there. They were so hungry. They finished all the...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/11/07/raven-in- her-new-home/
Happy updates from DT:
So happy to inform that Raven is already out of her cage and her best friend for now is Bagheera. They love to play-fight with each other. Raven does not hiss at the other cats now. She has adapted so well. What a rapid and great progress!
Yay! Thank you, DT! At last, Raven has a friend to play with.
A photo of Raven and Bagheera on the day she was rehomed:
Bagheera with blue collar, Raven without.

What They Do, And What We Do 14th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
Yes, stray animals may:
1. Sleep atop our cars. It’s their natural instinct to be in high places.
2. Urinate on our car tyres. It is also their natural way.
3. Jump onto our roofs. Again, they like high places.
4. Accidentally break our flower pots or decorative ornaments. I doubt it’s on purpose.
5. Urinate and defecate in our gardens. Again, where else can they do it? A public toilet?
6. Eat our food. Because they are hungry.
I think none of the above is done on purpose to anno...

Rosie And Ginger Are Our Porch Cats Now, And Some Reflections On Community Animals 14th Nov 2012, by AnimalCare
Ever since Raven was rehomed, Rosie was the first to move into our house compound. Then, Ginger joined her. Now, both of them are our porch cats. I hope they will stay in our compound as much as possible and not go over to the neighbours who might not tolerate the presence of community animals in their compounds. Also, there is the problem of cats jumping on roofs, accidentally causing roof tiles to fall, things to break, etc. and some people might not be tolerant of such things.
It’s easy...
