Sporotrichosis In Cats

In the last two days, I’ve received three enquiries on the treatment of sporotrichosis in pet cats. All three are pets, not strays or newly rescued cats.
There is cause for concern if they are pets. As far as we know, sporotrichosis is not seasonal. It is a fungal disease and cats are known to be infected by it through puncture wounds and bites (usually from fights).

Medical Subsidy For Female Puppy (parvo Suspect) (Lester Hiew Thiam Hock’s)

We have subsidised RM90 for the treatment of this female puppy, suspected of parvo virus, rescued by Lester Hiew and his mother. We have verified this case with the vet and the vet informed us that the female puppy was tested negative of parvovirus but found to have the symptoms. The puppy was treated and has recovered. Lester has taken the puppy home.
The puppy also had a male sibling and he was tested positive. The male sibling did not make it.

Taking Cow To The Vet’s

We noticed this red spot on Cow’s paw this morning.
Knowing how prone he is to paw wounds and how badly affected he would be, we wasted no time in taking him to the vet’s for a check-up. Furthermore, when we tried to “check”, he got all defensive and he “almost killed us”! Cow, as you know, is extremely fierce…with us.
So, armed with a towel, I managed to put him into the carrier.

Dog From North Port Construction Site, For Adoption (now At PAWS)

Mr Low Hong Hang brought this black female dog for spaying a few days ago (now already spayed) but decided to surrender the dog to PAWS as he felt the dog is very friendly and can be adopted. Mr Low did not have the heart to release the dog back to the construction site and be subjected to accident or any eventualities. Moreover, the dog is a loner and has no family members at the construction site in North Port. She is estimated to be about 2 years old.

As a pet owner, my two greatest nightmares would be (1) my pet has a life-threatening illness and there is no known treatment, and (2) my pet is lost.
Kimi was lost two weeks ago. She struggled out of her leash and ran off during a routine morning walk with her owner, Mr Lee. Efforts were made to locate her but she could not be found until…yesterday!
