Mr Kiasu’s Spraying Issues 20th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s strange how previously Ginger would obediently stay in the patio for long hours without complaining (with the patio door closed), but now that the green netting is up, he is complaining so much!
Clearly, he is offended by the netting.
I let him in for breakfast this morning and he had his breakfast with Heidi and Tabs in the kitchen. Then, I had to feed the Cow Clan, so I left him.
And what did he do?
He did a massive spraying on Heidi’s new house.
Mr Kiasu!!
Luckily I had al...

Not Spider-Cat, But Biter-Cat! 19th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Ginger was clearly very offended by the netting.
Previously, he was quite happy staying in the patio, sleeping on the chairs, but not this evening.
Ever since we put up the netting, he has been trying nonstop to find a way in.
Not by scaling, though.
But by biting.

From the video, it is obvious that Ginger WILL get in by biting through the netting.
Perhaps putting up t...

When Everyone Is Asleep… 19th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
After dinner, everyone takes a nap…
But at Bunny’s Place, one cat must keep awake to do sentry duty.
Outside Bunny’s Place, who is awake?
But Ginger is not doing sentry duty. He is trying to figure out how to get in…
If you weren’t obese, Ginger, this would be a possible entrance.
Three cushions were sprayed on today during Ginger’s very short visits into the house. I’ve washed two and now, I have to wash another one. We also have not been able to...

The New Ginger-Netting 19th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
It was getting to be too much already.
Although Ginger is confined to the patio whenever we go out, we do let him in whenever we are home. However, he sneaks very quickly to the living room and sprays on our cushions.
Every single day, I have to wash cushions and cushion covers.
So, today, I decided to use back Bunny-Spider-Cat’s previous netting (with a hole big enough for Pole and Cleo to get through) and install it (just as a trial) on the patio grille.
We’re hoping that Heidi ca...

Finally, Indy….finally!!! 19th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
After almost 3 months of exploring ways to help Indy with his loose stools, finally, just now…..
These are his stools….
It is formed!!!!!
Blood-tinged, but formed!!! Only slightly soft – ever so slightly!
So, is something working? The steroids? The Vit B12 injections? The Boulardii? The bone broth?
Is this for real? Is this here to stay? Or is it just another temporary false hope?
Was it intolerance to chicken and has he finally overcome the intolerance himself?
Was i...

What If….(again) 19th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Indy’s is back to his usual self, zooming around and playing.
There’s no stools today and the last output was what I found at 5.20am yesterday morning.
His ravenous appetite is back too.
He is currently on Vetri DMG, S.Boulardii (yes, I restarted this after he started getting liquid stools) and the low dose of steroids (Prednisolone – only for 10 days) and the B12 injection (planned to be once a week).
But I’ve also been thinking about what my raw-feeding friend said righ...

Good Boy, Indy! 18th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Indy has always been a very considerate cat. He knows Bunny is blind and when Bunny accidentally bumps into him, he never attacks Bunny (unlike Cow).
Indy always sits next to me when I do my work at the computer in Bunny’s Room.
Today, Bunny jumped onto the same chair without knowing that Indy was already there.
Oops…
Slight posturing…but no attack.
Indy jumps down and lets Bunny have the chair.
You’re a good boy, Indy!

More Of Mr Kiasu’s Antics 18th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Ginger boycotted breakfast today. I am not sure what his demands are, though. He came into the kitchen many times whining but refused to eat what was served.
He finally ate at lunch time.
I’ve already ordered Cubgrub’s Quail and Duck for him since he likes it so much. Quail and Duck are both more pricey than Chicken, so Ginger would still have to eat some Chicken from time to time.
Then, Heidi found these boxes and made it into her new house.
Ginger wanted them too.
Heidi refuse...

Indy’s Ravenous Appetite Is Back! 18th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s confirmed – it’s back!
Indy was back on his window sill this morning, asking for food. I got up at 5.30am to check the sandpit but he could not wait.
He was SO hungry!!
So, Indy ate his Fillet Plus (the full recipe), Cubgrub (I had to control the amount as “the sky’s the limit”) and drank up 4 tablespoons of bone broth….and still wanted more, but I had to stop him.
However, I found a small amount of almost-liquid stools at the sandpit. I suppose th...

Indy Jones Bounces Back! 17th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
I was rather worried the change in Indy’s demeanor earlier but by 5pm there was thunderstorm, Indy seemed much better.
Despite the thunderstorm, he asked for food and he ate quite a bit.
Then, at 7.30pm just now, when we came home after dinner, Indy was at the grille, calling out for food.
Since had already eaten a full meal at 5pm, I just gave him a tablespoon of Cubgrub and he ate it all up!
Earlier, at 5pm…

An Analysis For Indy 17th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
I’m just writing these observations for my own records.
New medication in the last 3 days: (1) Steroids (2) Coccidia medication (finished)
What changed?
Not so good:
(1) Decreased appetite, not so interested in food.
(2) Not as active as before.
(3) Not willing to eat a balanced meal, only wants pure chicken fillet.
(4) Not so interested in bone broth, but will drink after some coaxing.
Could be good:
(1) Only small bits of faeces.
(2) Colour of faeces is back to darker brown, not light br...

A Change In Indy 17th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Yesterday was the last of the coccidia medication. Indy hated it very much and would froth for minutes after taking it. Luckily it was only for 3 days. This is to cover our bases, just in case it’s a coccidia infection.
But since the coccidia medication yesterday, even after a few hours, Indy didn’t feel like eating. Normally, he would have a ravenous appetite. I thought it was because of the bitterness of the coccidia medication.
However, until today, he still doesn’t seem to ...

Mr Kiasu’s Many Issues 17th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Mr Kiasu has many, many (unnecessary) issues.
He used to have total free access to the whole house, but months ago, he started spraying on all the cushions and we ended up washing cushions and cushion covers on a daily basis. And the problem is, we won’t know he has sprayed on them until we use the cushions!
So now, he gets limited access to the house. However, the entire patio belongs to him.
But I like the cushions….
And he also has eating issues.
When Indy had to eat chicken f...

Indy’s Midnight Cover-Up Plan 16th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
I waited all day for Indy to poop but he did not and by 11.30pm last night, I was totally konked out and simply had to go to sleep.
This morning, I found a mound at the sandpit – it’s Indy’s, I know. By now, I know all his spots. Cleo sticks to one spot and so does Cow. The rest of the sandpit is Indy’s.
I tried my best to clear off the sand gently to try and locate the stools, but that was quite impossible. Based on whatever I could find, I think there is one piece...

What Ginger Did 15th Nov 2019, by AnimalCare
Because Ginger has made it his habit to spray on our cushions whenever he gets the chance, we are training him to spend more time at the patio.
But he is NOT happy, so he boycotted his breakfast today. As hungry as he was, he refused to eat until I let him in.
He is eating in the kitchen now.
Then, because Ginger has been chasing Tabs so much lately, Tabs has asked for asylum at Bunny’s Place.
She spent the entire morning (until lunch) in Pole’s Condo.
Pole and Cleo let her s...
