Neutering Aid For 1 Cat In Shah Alam (Goh Kok Ho’s)

We have provided an aid of RM100 for the neutering of this cat.
I have completed stray female cat number 6 for Project 1 today. Surgery was successful. She also have been V notched at the ear as per policy. She is currently recovering in my house and will be released back to her colony after a few days monitoring.
She have been coming to my house to feed for few months now. My long term plan for her is continue to feed her and take care of her in the foreseeable future.

No More “hospital Food”, Says Indy

Okay, I’ve got it figured out.
Indy doesn’t want raw chicken fillet or Fillet Plus anymore.
He wants back his Cubgrub. Normal food. No more “hospital food”, he says.
I took a chance and offered some Cubgrub to him just now. He ate it up! Then, I offered more and he ate that up too.
This is his third helping. I’m careful not to give too much, though.

Indy’s (expected) News

Indy is back to having soft stools again.
Sigh….so what’s new?
But to be fair, there was a piece of firm stool and a patch of soft stools which I discovered in the sandpit this morning at 5am. His last defecation was two days ago, so it’s actually been about 36 hours.
He also doesn’t feel like eating, but he’s definitely not weak or lethargic. He’s just too busy zooming around playing all over Bunny’s Place.

After 3 days of being green-netted, Ginger won the battle today.
I took down the green netting.
Although the netting was up, Ginger was still allowed into the house many times a day, under supervision. So far, he has not sprayed on any of the cushions. I also spotted him deliberately peeing in the litter box in the bathroom – three times.
Hahahaha….I win, I win!!
The netting has been taken down.
See? He willingly goes out.

The Big Fight Between Indy And Bunny

Bunny attacked Indy this evening. I saw it all. And Indy did not fight back.
I had to break up the fight with a cushion. Indy’s fur was flying all over. Luckily no one was harmed.
Since Indy was so good, I let him out for a while to play at the patio. Ginger and Tabs were there with him.
Although Indy ate at breakfast today, by lunch and dinner, he wasn’t interested in eating anymore. He was too busy playing and zooming around.

Indy Is Eating Again

After an unexplained dip in appetite yesterday, Indy is back to eating again today!
In fact, he ate with everyone else, not at the window sill.
Yesterday, I finally had to resort to putting a Greenies nugget on this food to entice him to eat.
The vet did advise me to give Greenies to our cats as a dental treat. However, our cats swallow it whole, so I guess that defeats the purpose? They don’t chew.

Has He Learned?

I don’t know if Ginger has learnt anything from the two days of being humiliated by the green-netting because yesterday, I saw him peeing in the litter box in the bathroom – TWICE.
Well, to be fair, previously, he also pee-ed in the litter box but stopped doing this for some weeks now.
In any case, the spraying has nothing to do with having no place to do a proper pee. The spraying is all about marking territory.

Bunny – Caught In The Act!

I caught Bunny posturing towards Indy and threatening him this afternoon.
At the back, Pole takes cover in case a fight breaks out, but I managed to diffuse the growing tension.
On another note, I found a tiny bit of foul-smelling soft stool in the sandpit just now. Looks like we are still not out of the woods yet.

Firm Stools!!

I saw it all happening at exactly 3.03pm just now.
Indy was not keen to eat lunch, despite me offering his fillet plus with liver.
I decided to let him be. So I gave him bone broth instead, which he drank heartily.
After another 1.5 hours, I offered bone broth again. This time, he just drank some but did not finish.
Then, as I was out at the patio with Ginger, I saw Indy at the sandpit. I rushed in and saw it all.

Ginger Got Stuck!

So, Ginger mooched around in Bunny’s Place and suddenly, I heard a loud thud.
Rushed out and what did I see?
Ginger’s up on the ledge???
He jumped up? All 6kg of bluberry Ginger jumped up???
Oh yes, he did. And he even managed to turn his body around to patrol on the ledge.
Wow!!
Cow: Wait…what? He jumped up??
Yes, and he’s stuck!
We were deciding if we should let him figure it out (a learning opportunity) or help him.

Ginger’s Targets

So, Ginger’s story continues…
We were going to take down the green netting yesterday but yesterday was really a very busy day and we have not got down to doing it yet.
It is pretty clear that Ginger views the green netting as an insult to him.
If the grille and patio door are open, he will willingly go out to the patio and sit on the chairs. But if the grille is closed (with the green netting), that’s what makes him angry and he will go all out to squeeze through the loophole ...

The Raw Deal – The Boycott!

I opened a new jar of Duck yesterday (as a compensation gesture for Ginger), so I had to finish the jar as soon as possible, which, I am sure, is no problem at all, given how much Ginger loves Duck.
But I also wanted to transition some of the other cats to Duck, if at all that is possible.
Bunny eats Duck – this is confirmed, so that’s really good.
Pole and Cleo are iffy cases – off and on.
Cow, Tabs, Heidi and Indy won’t touch Duck.

The Raw Deal – Protein Transition (duck)

To compensate for “offending” Ginger, he had a 100% Cubgrub duck dinner tonight.
Ginger loves duck and asked for more.
Bunny is willing to eat duck as well, so that’s one more protein for Bunny besides chicken.
Indy had his 70-30 (Fillet Plus + Cubgrub chicken). The vet also agreed that it’s too early to transition Indy to a new protein. Let his stools settle first.

Indy And Cow To The Vet’s

I took Indy and Cow to the vet’s today.
Indy was due for his Vit B12 injection (weekly). And Cow had been pawing the right side of his mouth when eating, so I was worried if he had some problem there.
So, Indy had his B12 jab and was really good about it. The vet remarked that Indy is “always happy”. The short version is, we still don’t know what caused Indy’s loose stools but since it’s firming up (hopefully?), we will continue with a few more days of the ste...

Ginger Breaks In

Ginger broke in this morning, by squeezing through the “loophole”.
He was very angry and offended, and later, he took it out on Heidi.
Poor Heidi.
I prepared all these houses for him, but he was still very offended at being deprived access into the house.
