Who Is (actually) Obese?

So we know that one way of determining whether your cat is obese or not is to look from above while the cat is standing and see if we can see an “indentation” at the abdomen.
Let’s see…
We’ve been debating on whether Bunny is obese or just stout…
I told my vet that Bunny is just “stout”, not obese and he said I was in denial. LOL!!
There IS an indentation, right?

Day 9 Of Mr Zurik’s Course Of Antibiotics

Mr Zurik was waiting at the patio, sitting on Timmy’s chair this morning.
He jumped down when I brought out the food and he started intimidating poor Vincent.
I carried Mr Zurik back onto the chair to eat, but he jumped down.
He wanted to be with everyone else, I guess.
I’m watching…
Timmy quickly finished his food and we had to play the merry-go-round again, with me chasing him away from trying to snatch food from the others.

Cleo Makes The Snack Call…and Everybody Gets!

Bunny & Friends are very smart.
They have a system going.
And this refers to the snack calls.
They know who to send to make the calls.
If they want a snack from my son, they send Bunny. If from my daughter, they send Cow. If from me, well…anyone would do. Maybe Indy?
But if it’s from my husband, they send Cleo.
This is how a Cleo Call works…

Frontlining The Patio Family

If you remember, the vet said Mr Zurik had a bad ear mite infestation and he was “Advocated” right after he was neutered (while still under anaesthesia).
Unfortunately, I have a phobia of using spot-ons. This time, I opted for the time-tested Frontline. After all, Mr Zurik did not get any burn spot with Advocate.
So, I applied the Frontline spot-on on Timmy, Ginger and Rosie.
No struggle.

We have subsidised RM36 for the treatment of these two Lebuh Ampang cats, Ginger and Grey. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM16) and Berjaya Cares (RM20). According to the receipt, RM52 was for Ginger (consultation, deworming and eye treatment) and RM12 was for Grey@McDreamy (deworming only). We do not subsidise Frontline Spot-On.

I replied asking the lady to please read our policies (already sent) and that all applicants must follow procedures. I made a judgment call today. I let Mr Zurik go.
It’s been 7 days of being cooped up in the cage. His wounds had already healed beautifully and he seemed well. His urination and defecation, as well as his appetite had been good.
I checked, and some vets prescribe 5 days, 7 days, 10 days or 21 days, depending on the severity of the wounds or illness.
It’s Day 7 of the antibiotics.
Timmy, Rosie and Daffodil were there, as usual.
I gave him his antibiotics (in Monge).

Timmy Plays “musical Bowls” Again!

Old habits die hard…
Timmy has gone back to playing his game of “musical bowls” again!
This is when he goes from one bowl to another at mealtimes, making sure he gets a bit from everyone’s bowl, and most of the time, Daffodil, Ginger and Rosie would just step aside and let him eat. This explains, without a doubt, why he is obese.
