Plant Your Own Pesticide-Free Vegetables

Whenever I give public talks on eating less meat (which also means eating more vegetables), the counter argument to this is always this: Eating more vegetables means supporting the use of pesticides which kills millions and zillions of insects, which are also living beings.
Then, I’d say, buy organic vegetables AND the counter argument to this would be:
1. How do you know it’s really organic?
2. What if they also use pesticides or they kill insects in other ways?

Shortly after Igor was done with dinner and had left the pantry, I heard whining inside the house…
Mr Zurik had come into the kitchen and on hand to lodge the complaint is…Timmy!
Timmy was whining non-stop.
Vincent decided not to interfere.

An Owner’s Reluctance To Have Her Female Dog Spayed

In the past few days, we have been communicating with a reader on the case of an owner who has not got her female dog spayed. The dog, who is allowed to roam, gave birth to her first litter, and the owner only kept one male from it. The rest of the puppies were “thrown away”. Then, the son mated with the mother and subsequently, the mother has given birth to three more litters of which ALL the puppies had been “thrown away”.

We have subsidised RM312.50 for this case. According to Trish, Dahlia is up and about and walking (with a slight limp). This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM62.50), Berjaya Cares (RM125) and Ti-Ratana Penchala (RM125). The total bill is RM625.

So (Zurik)…save The Last (dose) For Me….

It’s almost as though he knows he has to take his medicine, Mr Zurik came again at 6.30pm. He stayed at the gate as though waiting for some thing.
I know it’s too early for his second dose of the day (which is also the VERY last dose of his 10-day course of antibiotics), but he seemed to be expecting it. After all, he cannot be hungry so fast, right?
But he was waiting.
I was reluctant to give it to him because I wanted to wait until at least 6 hours, which would be 9pm tonight.

This morning, I heard the sound of cat growling in the wee hours of the morning. That woke me up and you know how it is, once you go back to sleep, you’ll wake up late, which was precisely what happened after that!
By the time I got out to feed the Patio Family, it was already 8am and by then, it was bright and therefore, Mr Zurik must have gone.
I did not see him anywhere outside either.
