Yes, she marched straight into the patio…as confident as….Tabs!
It’s Heidi, folks!
And it isn’t food that she wanted. She just wanted to visit.
I’m amazed at her confidence, really. The only other cat who had ever displayed such confidence was Tabs.
Out of courtesy she tasted a bit of the food offered, but really, she had not come for food.

RIP, Abang The Cat (Salina Abd Bakar’s)

Willy Continues To Improve

The dinner dose of medication went well. I wrapped the tablets into two separate balls of wetfood and managed to pop it in. However, Willy spat out the Metronidazole twice. I guess this tablet must be really as bitter as the vet had cautioned it to be.
All afternoon, Willy was quiet (settled, I hope) and he took naps too. It was also partly due to the heavy downpour that he was quiet. I covered his cage with extra towels during the downpour to keep him warm.

Willy is not as docile and scaredy as I thought him to be…
I checked his food and found that he had cleverly picked out the piece of quartered Metronidazole (which I’m told is bitter) and placed it on the tray below.
So, like it or not, I had to garner all my courage and try the “scruff” method of force-feeding. The trick, I was told, is to grab the scruff firmly so that the cat cannot move his head. Then plonk the tablet into his throat and rub the chin to make him swall...

Willy Day 2 (morning)

I was undecided whether to try force-feeding Willy his medicine (like they do it SO easily at the clinic even on the most ferocious feline) or to just mix it with his wetfood.
I took the cowardly way out….and mixed it with his wetfood.
Oh well, I cannot afford to get a bite since my thumb (that got scratched yesterday) is still one-and-a-half times its size.
Willy was hungry enough, so….yay!
But hold your horses….not so “yay” after all (wait…).

Things Are Looking Up For Willy

It’s past midnight, and upon checking, Willy had passed out a well-formed stool. Yay!
He is also much more settled now and ate another two spoonfuls of ID. The vet said to give small amounts first and gradually increase it to half a can, twice a day (for his 3.15kg weight).

Willy Still Has Diarrhoea…

Willy finally ate up that one spoonful of ID and I gave him a bit more, which he happily ate up too.
However, there were traces of diarrhoea on the newspapers as well as one well-formed stool. The one piece of well-formed stool is a ray of hope that he is recovering.
Willy seems happy, though of course, he tried to get out of the cage (which self-respecting cat wouldn’t, right?)

Taking Willy To The Vet

…was much harder than I thought it would be!
I fed Willy an early dinner, and had already planned to catch him and take him to the vet because I’ve noticed him straining to defecate a few days ago, and his anus and scrotum looked very swollen. Neutering Subsidy For 4 Rescued Dogs (Eileen Ng Ai Ling’s)

We have subsidised RM540 for the spay-neuter of 4 rescued dogs. For Ethan and Elbert, it is a full sponsorship of RM120 each. For Kiki and Pebbles, it is a subsidy of RM150 each. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM140) and Berjaya Cares (RM400).

So, ever since Tiger and Tabs get to come out to the living room to chill, Tiger has been demanding to come out every day. Well, I don’t know if you could call it a “demand” as such; he whines so pitifully at the gate until you just have to let him out.
First, we had Vincent and Ginger inside the house, but Tabs and Tiger started getting close to Ginger and the encounter did not look too friendly, so we quickly let Ginger out. Only Vincent remained.
