Mr Zurik And His “Operasi Cari Pasal” And Willy Eats Kibbles

Mr Zurik comes several times a day to “cari pasal” and poor Vincent, being the stormtrooper, has to fend him off.
Every time we hear the whining, I have to go out and chase him off. It’s not food that he wants because he gets his meals, he just wants to come and whine for reasons unknown.
Willy is doing well.
Today, I gave him ID as well as kibbles for dinner and so far, he has managed to retain the kibbles well. No diarrhoea and it has been 5 hours now. His stools this mornin...

Checking Heidi’s Teeth And Gums

One of our readers, Maneki, suggested that I try to check Heidi’s teeth and gums just in case the reason that Heidi does not eat kibbles is due to gingivitis or loss of teeth.
Heidi came at dinner time today. There was some disturbance outside….by Mr Zurik. Nowadays, Mr Zurik comes to “cari pasal” several times a day. I’m worried his growling and whining will disturb the neighbours.

One of our readers wrote to me last month to ask if there was anything that anyone could do about people shooting dogs in her area. I made some calls and was told that the Department of Veterinary Services (the DVS) had already banned the shooting of dogs, but apparently, people with certain authority can choose to ignore this directive.

Newborn Kitty On Her Way To Her Foster Mum-Cat

Yesterday evening, the vet called. Someone had left a tiny newborn (eyes closed) kitten at his clinic. Would I know of any fosterers or anyone with a mum-cat who can nurse the little one?
I made a few phonecalls to friends and luckily Connie had a friend who has a nursing mum-cat.
Here’s the little kitty now, in Connie’s car, on the way to her new foster mum-cat.
Yesterday, the kitty’s eyes were still closed. Today, they are open, so that’s not so worrying.

There was whining at the patio this morning and no prizes for guessing who it was.
Yes, it was Mr Zurik. He was just sitting on Timmy’s chair and whining. And whining. Loudly too.
I think he just wanted attention OR maybe to prove a point.
So anyway, I fed everyone and everyone was happy. It was the whole gang – Daffodil, Rosie, Ginger, Vincent (now he eats with everyone again), Mr G and Mr Zurik.

Mr Zurik, Heidi, Tabs And Little Elmo

After I finished cleaning Willy’s bum, Mr Zurik came again to antagonise Vincent. I must have chased him off at least 3 times this evening alone because he was making too much noise and I was afraid the neighbour would be disturbed. But he is very persistent and keeps coming back.
You see what I mean?
Can you imagine the racket that accompanies the aggression between these two?
I finally had to resort to splashing water to break up the cold war.

Willy’s Soothing Bum Gel!

After feeding everyone, I decided I’d try my luck at cleaning Willy’s bum and applying the lemongrass soothing gel.
This is my first-aid kit. It consists of the lemongrass gel, Dermacyn (for cleaning the wound area) and cotton pads.
Oh…and Halo too, because…
…I needed a tasty enough snack to lure Willy to stand up so that I can clean his bum (that’s his anus and scrotum).

Mr Zurik Keeps Willy Company?

At least that’s what I thought!
I rushed back from work today as I was a little worried about Willy being left alone for 8 hours.
The first thing I did was to clean up his cage and I noticed he had well-formed stools and just traces of pastiness. The faeces are definitely firming up.
I fed him his medication too. As before, he tensed up and tightened his muscles so grabbing the scruff of his neck was a problem again.
But right after feeding him his medicine, Willy had a visitor.

A Visit To Shibuya Train Station (Hachiko’s Station)!

My son flew to Haneda International Airport recently and visited Shibuya train station. That’s the very train station that loyal Hachiko waited for his master for many, many years.
Sobs, I know…I cried buckets after watching Richard Gere’s movie. I don’t think I have ever cried as much after watching any movie in my entire life because I remember still crying buckets when I went to sleep that day.

Willy, The Still Water And Street-Fighter???

And how is Willy? Oh, he decided to bite me today, so giving him his medicine was a bit of a struggle. And Willy is a very smart cat. Since yesterday, he had mastered the art of tightening the muscles around his neck so that I cannot get a good grip of the scruff of his neck. There was barely any skin to grab onto since he had tightened his muscles there. So, it was very difficult to get a grip.

Yes, no more surprises…Heidi came over to say hello after breakfast today.
I was preparing to go to work when I spotted a little tabby at the grille. Indy was already on the defensive (look at the slant of his head).
