Are You A Cat-Maniac? 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
This was forwarded to me:
Now, let me see…I am NOT guilty of:
a. Messy hair. My hair is always the way it is, even when I’m asleep, so I don’t think it’s messy…
b. Frequently baby-talking. Yikes! I don’t (and have never) baby-talked, not even to my own children, especially in a high pitched voice (that is SO annoying). No, no, never.
c. Oh, I don’t get to sleep with cats anymore these days as Bunny & Friends are confined in Bunny’s Place, but ...

Willy Is Home!! 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Willy is home, folks!
Timmy sent us off earlier, and here he is, greeting us.
You got to love Timmy. He’s such a great guy!
Rosie came too, and Daffodil watches from afar.
Willy is just waking up. Still groggy.
I left him alone because I know he’s in a groggy state for now.
His friends keep vigil.
Suddenly, a fight broke out in the kitchen.
I rushed in to see Mr G antagonising Heidi on the stove.
Mr G jumps down and I shoo him away.
Heidi looks at me with the pitiful look, sayi...

Getting Ready To Fetch Willy Home 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
All afternoon, I was sending good wishes to Willy for a successful and uncomplicated surgery. Whenever any animal goes under general anaesthesia, I cannot help feeling anxious. Anything can go wrong, I know. If there is an underlying kidney or liver problem, things could go drastically wrong. And that is why I got two vets to do the physical examination on Willy’s kidneys. Both said they appear to be normal. That’s as much as we can do, isn’t it? Then, we just pray for the best...

Heidi….flat Out All Afternoon! 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
It must have been quite an adventure for Heidi, going to the vet’s and voicing her strong displeasure over all the prodding she received.
So, our madame was flat out all afternoon.
She has declared that this is her spot.
I am the kitchen cat.
Vincent came to accompany her and she is okay about it.
As long as you don’t take my spot, I’m perfectly okay with it.
Flat out!!

Heidi’s Check Up At The Vet’s 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Now, Heidi’s story is…quite unexpected.
Before I spill the beans, here’s what I thought:
1. Heidi is a young cat.
2. Heidi is pregnant.
3. Heidi is super friendly and manja to all humans.
Wrong, wrong….on the first two counts, and can also be wrong on the third count!
1. Heidi is NOT a young cat. She has lost so many teeth, actually, and it’s probably due to bad gums. Many of her molars and premolars are gone. This explains why she cannot eat kibbles. The vet estima...

Willy’s Check Up At The Vet’s 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
I brought both the carrier into the vet’s examination room, and let Willy out first.
He was SO frightened, he ran helter-skelter, jumped onto the side table and almost brought the microscope down. The vet caught him by the scruff of his neck and put him on the table.
Willy has been scratching his ear. A bit of an ear mite problem, but not bad enough to warrant any treatment. Sometimes, they just live with it.
Look at that pool of urine.
Now, this is not normal. The vet pressed his bladde...

Taking Willy And Heidi To The Vet’s 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Heidi came this morning and headed straight to the kitchen. She learns incredibly fast.
Didn’t want Natural Balance. Only wants Monge. Very hungry again.
It wasn’t a problem catching her and putting her into the carrier.
Willy also wasn’t a problem too, but that’s because he was already in the cage.
Heidi was comfortable in the carrier throughout the ride to the vet’s, which took only 3 Platters’ song. By the time we reached the third song, midway, she ha...

A Case Of Mail Dumping By 3 Postmen 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
A reader alerted us to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne4Pvg3smRw# at=35
In view of the above, which we hope is only an isolated case, we strongly advise all applicants to keep a photocopy of all receipts, just in case. If you post by ordinary mail, it should arrive (during non-festive seasons) in 5 days. If after 7 days, you do not receive an email from us advising you on the subsidy payment, please email us to enquire if your form has been received.
If it still hasn’t arrived, ple...

It’s Meatless Monday Again! 22nd Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
I’m reeling from the thought of Sonny and Lek-Lek being still missing and that some workers around Imm’s Shelter eat dogs. I hope and pray Sonny & Lek-Lek can be found soon.
I know how the mere thought of people eating dogs (or cats) sends shivers down our spine. But we must remember that eating dogs and cats is no different from eating chickens, pigs, goats, cows, rabbit, fish, etc. All animals have feelings and consciousness; they are sentient. They can feel pain and experience...
