Mr G’s “bahasa Ibunda” 18th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
Last night, we tried to get Mr G to go home. He was inside the house, lounging in our dining room.
So I told him to go home in Chinese. He didn’t budge. I told him to “go home” in English, he just looked at me.
Then, my husband said, “Mr G, balik!!”
And he scuttled off….but only to the patio and stayed there with Daffodil.
Was it the tone of the voice, or does Mr G only understand his “bahasa ibunda”?!!
My guess is he did not go home. He was her...

A Primal Breakfast Mania! 18th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
Since Primal is quite pricey and I am feeding 7 inside and 8 outside (that’s a total of 15 regular diners) with the occasional guests, ie. Willy and Snow White, I had a brainwave this morning.
And since everyone likes to eat Primal neat (dry, without adding water), I thought I’d mix their regular wetfood with Primal. This way, I save a bit AND they get Primal with moisture from the wetfood.
I mixed Monge with Primal nuggets!!
Cats’ sense of smell is SO good, the Patio Family ...

A Natural Mosquito Repellent – Try It! 17th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
I received this through email and thought it might be worth a try since it doesn’t cost too much. If it works, you can solve your mosquito problem without having to destroy lives!
The email says to stick sticks of cloves into halved limes.
That’s it!
This is part of our ongoing education efforts at cultivating kindness to animals (see No.5):
How to be Kind to Animals
1. Feed street animals and get them neutered.
Practise CNRM: http://myanimalcare.org/cnrm/.
We provide help: http://...

Saturday Morning At The Patio And Bunny’s Place 17th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
Sorry for the blurry photo. My camera is still under repair and it’s not easy taking photos with my phone!
But this photo is to show that Snow White now comes right up to the patio and waits for food like everyone else. The strange thing is that her owner says she has already delivered 4 kittens (that was a few days ago). But she still looks pregnant. This time, her owner said she will get Snow White spayed. That’s provided she has delivered ALL her kittens, of course. Sometimes, th...

Of Willy And Parallel Universes 17th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
The last I fed Willy on Tuesday evening.
Ever since then, he has gone MIA again.
Probably on a mission somewhere. And by “somewhere”, I don’t mean only here and in this neighbourhood or even back to his kampung.
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/the -theory-of-parallel-universes.html
Yups, it’s totally baffling, you know. He’s just gone. Poof! Disappeared into thin air and is nowhere to be found.
I’ve learnt to accept that Willy will make these disappearin...

The “anonymous” bidder who made her generous bid of RM450 at 1.57pm for Blanket No.1 was Lim Mei Leng, our friend who adopted Perky from us (from the Klang Pound Rescue) and also an ardent animal rescuer and caregiver.
So, Perky is now the proud owner of Blanket No.1!
What is this?
Wow, Mummy…you bought this for me?
We hope Perky likes it!
Thank you very much, Mei Leng and all bidders!

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/06/02/mother-do g-and-puppy-boarding-fund-then-lai-fatts/
A short recap: Ah Fatt made an urgent request for boarding sponsorship for a mother-dog and her 3 newborn puppies and another heavily pregnant mother-dog, all from SS19, because the residents had called the council but fortunately, the council had not managed to catch them in two attempts. A third attempt was in the pipeline (due to repeated complaints from the residents), so Ah Fatt needed urgent help.

Thank you, Jasmine!

Timmy Visits His Old “home” And Other Stories 16th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
This afternoon, Timmy made a visit to his old “home”….
If you remember, Timmy was found crying in the middle of my road right in front of my gate on a Saturday morning sometime last year. Subsequently, he stayed in the blue dustbins (codenamed “Tardis”, an alien space vehicle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TARDIS) at the playground. It was only later that he earned his place at the patio and is now a full fledged member of the Patio Family. Of course, we thank Daff...
