It Was Just Hairball, Silly!! 22nd Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
Referring to this post from early this morning where Pole refused food: https://myanimalcare.org/2019/12/22/the -boycott-of-the-year/, I postulated 6 possible reasons for it.
And started worrying….
Sometime mid-morning, Pole vomited some hairball and thereafter she was perfectly fine again!
So it wasn’t any of those 6 reasons! It was just a case of hairball causing some discomfort!
At lunch time, she was happily eating again!

The Boycott Of The Year 22nd Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
I thought Ginger was the expert at hunger strikes.
But I think this takes the cake….
I don’t know exactly what precipitated this situation today, but it could be one of six things:
(1) me changing the schedule of giving Pole and Cleo Pronefra (from night time to this morning)
(2) me feeding Bunny Cubgrub’s Quail (which so far, only Ginger and Bunny eats – the rest say it’s not food)
(3) Pole suddenly realising that the Cubgrub now has slightly bigger pieces (it&rsq...

Neutering Aid For 2 Cats In Seputeh, KL (Koo Chooi May’s) 21st Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
We have provided an aid of RM200 for the neutering of these 2 cats.
Ms Koo is a new applicant.
I found Soya (green eyes) and Dou Hua (green and blue eye) in Seputeh where I stay, in an alley with few stray cats. After surgery, I bring them home and take care for few days to monitor the scar. And then put them back to the alley where they can stay with their cats together.
I’m feeding the cats everyday after work, if there is any injury or they fall sick, I will bring them to the vet nearb...

The Raw Deal And Indy’s Update After 4 Months 21st Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
Here’s a recap of Indy’s chronic loose stool problem:
I discovered it in August 2019. He had blood-tinged loose stools. At that time, Indy was still the kibble-king. But he did eat canned and raw too. However, all our cats were on the rojak diet of canned-raw-kibble (“semua mau”). Little did I know at that time that this rojak diet was bad for digestion, even if you don’t mix them in one meal but give them individually at different times – it’s still ups...

The French Flannel Blanket And Our “fighting Fishes”! 18th Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s been rather cold these days, so we thought a French flannel blanket would be great for the cats.
The shopping mall we went to had marked up the price to RM125 but they were giving a 70% discount, so it was only RM37.50 (which I’m told is the normal price at other malls)…oh well! Business gimmicks!! But guess how much Lazada is selling them at?
MUCH lower!! (But the reviews aren’t so good.)
Anyway, here’s the French flannel blanket…I&rs...

Indy’s Escapades 17th Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
And by “escapades”, I mean his exciting and daring adventures and also, a play on the word, his “escapes”!
Yes, Indy has been escaping from Bunny’s Place either by sneaking out at lightning speed from the grille when we open it to go in or sneaking out quietly from the window sill when I turn my back while feeding him.
One is at lightning speed (the grille). One is super quietly….(the window sill).
Smart fellow, isn’t he?
Suddenly, he’s in the ho...

Building A Strong Bond With Your Cat 15th Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
Often, we hear non-cat parents saying that dogs are definitely more affectionate than cats and that cats are aloof. Some even accuse cats of being “selfish” and uncaring.
I grew up with dogs all my life and only touched a kitten (or cat) for the first time in my life 13+ years ago when I rescued Cow, Bunny and Pole from the roadside as newborns. This was when Bobby and Mac (our pet dogs) were both 10 years old.
After that, destiny decided that I’d be a “crazy cat woman&rd...

The Raw Deal – A “rabbit” Surprise! 15th Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
This is unprecedented…
Tabs eating Rabbit???
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uplo ads/2019/12/WhatsApp-Video-2019-12-15-at-04.22.43. mp4
Believe it or not? But yes!
How it happened:
Tabs is a huge fan of Primal. She just loves, loves, loves Primal. Every morning, she would obediently eat her Cubgrub Chicken, but she appreciates a reward of Primal after she finishes. Sometimes, she won’t eat her Cubgrub until I put some Primal sprinkles onto it.
So this morning, she ate her Cubg...

Pole’s CKD – Roughly At Stage 2 14th Dec 2019, by AnimalCare
I finally managed to collect some of Pole’s urine today. It happened just before subcut because Pole was too nervous and urine just shot out. I didn’t have a bottle with me, so I quickly got a syringe and tried to syringe as much as possible of the urine from the table. A lot of it was soaked into the cloth, though, so I squeezed out some of that into a bottle. The syringe didn’t quite work as there was too little to be syringed up.
We rushed the urine to the vet’s to get...
