Ginger Day 4

Ginger was waiting for breakfast with everyone else this morning.
He was sitting on the patio chair.
By the way, the cat on the chair up there is Mr Zurik. He’s back too.
Where from, I don’t know, but he was away (on a mission?) for 3 days.
And Timmy Two Bowls is back dining in the cage. What a relief for me!
Ginger’s appetite is not excellent yet, but it’s getting there. He ate half his food, and when I added kibbles, he ate all of them up.

And Ginger Comes Back!

This morning, I made a judgment call and released Ginger from the cage. He didn’t have a fever anymore and he was whining to be let out. I figured caging him would only stress him out which would not augur well for his recovery. Moreover, the garden maintenance team was coming and all the patiocats usually run away when they come. Ginger would be freaked out if still caged at that time.
So I let him out with the hope that he would come back twice a day for his antibiotics.

Every month, the garden maintenance team come to keep our lawn in order, and when this happens, the patiocats run off (I don’t know where, but everyone would disappear). Everyone except Heidi who isn’t afraid of anything or anyone.

Ginger Day 3 – No More Fever!

Ginger was up and about at 6.30am this morning, looking excited. Timmy accompanied him all night (or rather, the patio is Timmy’s place anyway).
Good news No. 1 – Ginger ate on his own!!
Not much, but he did, and maybe it’s also because I added Primal. I think he is sick of AD and soft food.
I went to our regular vet for advice yesterday, with the intention of purchasing Lysine to boost Ginger’s appetite, but the vet felt I should not. It’s better that the cat eat...

The short of it: He’s alert and active like a live tiger, but he’s still not eating on his own. I’m told to give the Clavomox 48 hours to do its job. Or, maybe I’m force-feeding him too frequently, so how can he be hungry, right?

The spaying of 3 female cats = RM300
The spaying of 1 female dog = RM150
Diarrhoea treatment for 1 cat = RM12.50
Constipation (manual evacuation) treatment for 1 cat = RM37.50
We did not subsidise the boarding of the last 2 cats.
Total subsidy = RM500. This subsidy comes from the AnimalCare Donors (RM200) and Berjaya Cares (RM300).

Ginger Has Mild Fever

Now, luckily I decided not to take any chances and to take Ginger to the vet’s.
He has a fever of 40 degrees.
We were the first in line and Ginger was very curious.
But he was extremely stressed as well. He was mewing nonstop in the car and also at the clinic. I brought him in the carrier, but used the harness so that he could come out and walk about.
He wouldn’t sit still while waiting at the clinic.

Ginger In The Morning

Ginger seemed fine this morning.
I think he is quite angry that he’s been caged all night so he refused to eat.
He just ate a little bit and started scratching at the newspaper in the litter box.
So I took him out on the harness and he defecated on the grass.
Of course no self-respecting cat would be happy being on a harness, so he just sat and refused to move…
