Willy On His Longest MIA 15th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Willy has not turned up for about 2 weeks now. He started disappearing just before Chinese New Year, then came back for awhile, disappeared again, and returned on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year, stayed for a few days, and has not turned up since.
This time, I have a gut feeling his family must have moved and taken him with them.
I still go out twice a day to call for him, but Willy is not in his usual spots.
I think Willy is gone for good this time. He must have moved with his family.
Be safe...

Heidi, The Kitchen-Cat 15th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
It’s confirmed, Heidi is our kitchen-cat.
Even on the very first day that she came, she had already made a beeline for the kitchen and stayed there. Now, she is firmly established as our kitchen-cat.
Here are photos taken over a day:
After breakfast.
At mid-morning.
At lunch time.
Shortly after lunch.
But she does have some activities too. When I come home from work and goes upstairs to take a bath, Heidi will accompany me and wait for me outside the bathroom door. She’s pretty m...

Home Sweet Home For 16 Cats 14th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Yes, miracles do happen sometimes…if we put in the effort!
A friend told us about these cats who desperately needed a home. Most of these cats had been recently abandoned by their owners.
We discussed the options and a friend (bless her kind soul) offered to take over all these cats. Another friend offered transportation for the cats, so it was all arranged.
There were siblings and families, many of whom were abandoned by their owners. I don’t know why this always happens during fe...

A Gentle Reminder Of Our Policies 14th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
My apologies first, to our regular readers, because I have to keep repeating myself every few months regarding this issue. This is because we have new readers and new applicants all the time which necessitates this gentle reminder.

Dr Jane Goodall And Wounda 13th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Akmar shared this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-255 7961/Thanks-The-touching-moment-chimp-nursed-healt h-hugs-carer.html
As the door to Wounda’s box is opened, she scampers around but stays close to her human caregivers.
She stands on top of her box and sits down to take in her new surroundings.
Then, without thinking, she turns and hugs Dr. Goodall in a moving moment of tenderness between human and chimpanzee.
The embrace between the two appears to last for several minutes.
No...

Timmy Tips The Scales At….(you’ll Be Surprised!) 13th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Timmy requested that I write this post, in his defense. Apparently, he checked our Facebook page and found that 250 people (and still counting!) had read the post entitled “Plump, chubby, portly….” and he wants to defend himself.
This one: http://myanimalcare.org/2014/02/12/plump-chu bby-portly-round-chunky-paunchy-and-prosperous/
So he requested that I take these photos of him…with him posing at a more “accurate” angle, you know….
See? It was the angl...

The Story Of Milk 12th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
I’ve shared this fact a few times now: Humans are the only animals who continue drinking milk after infancy. And they also drink the milk of other animals.
Here are some facts for us to ponder: http://iwastesomuchtime.com/on/?i=69893
I ’ve been milk-free for more than a decade now. Don’t miss a thing, and you can sleep easy knowing you have not caused the poor cows in dairy farms to be hooked onto machines that pump their milk non-stop. And when they can no longer produce milk...

Another Difference Between Humans And Animals 12th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Take a look: http://www.viralnova.com/touching-dog-comic /
Call it whatever you like, but animals have this wonderful ability to accept their destiny and live with it.
I’d like to call it “wisdom”.
Humans complain, fret, deny, get angry, bargain, get depressed…before they finally (hopefully?) accept their destiny and learn to live with it.
Here’s one up for the animals…again. They are smarter!

Ginger, My Sewing-Cat 12th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
If Vincent is my bodyguard and TV-cat (yes, he comes in the moment we turn on the TV and he will lie on the sofa with me), then Ginger is definitely my sewing-cat. He comes in the moment he hears me cutting cloth or using the sewing machine AND he even helps out…
Measuring and cutting the backing cloth.
Did I get that right, Ginger?
Life is so much sweeter when you have a furry companion and helper in everything that you do!
