Betsy’s Update
4th Mar 2020, by AnimalCare

I have not updated on Betsy for weeks now, so it’s time I did. Betsy is fine and very happy. Here’s a video: https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads /2020/03/Betsy-video.mp4 Connie has been taking her for check-ups on her eye regularly. As happy as she is, Connie noticed that sometimes when she is not playing with the other dogs, she does whine in pain. In yesterday’s check-up, the vet advised that it may be better to have the defective eyeball removed once and for all. Th...

Cow’s Vomiting
2nd Mar 2020, by AnimalCare

This morning, Cow vomited all his breakfast out (he ate Coco&Joe’s). I gave him Omeprazole. Later, I saw him eating grass. By lunch time, he vomited all his food again (Cubgrub this time). On both times, he vomited out fresh food. Just now, at about 5pm, I gave him about three spoonfuls for AD.  Of course he ate it up happily.  Let’s hope he will not vomit.  I’m monitoring him closely. The “trouble” with giving anyone AD or Recovery is that ever...

To Dream The Impossible Dream: Getting Queen Cleo To Eat Supplements
2nd Mar 2020, by AnimalCare

In view of the current seasonal cat flu and how Ginger had contracted it, followed by Indy (who has no contact with Ginger), Heidi and Bunny, I had to fortify the immunity of all our cats. The vet recommended Lysine and Vetri DMG. On the first day, everyone LOVED the chewable Lysine, but by the second day, who else but the Queen, rejected it. Bunny too, surprisingly, did not like the Lysine later on, but he can be forcefed. It’s Cleo that is the problem. There is NO WAY she can be forcefed...

The “3rd Force” In The Making?
1st Mar 2020, by AnimalCare

Tabs used to live with the Cow Clan (along with Tiger last time), but both were bullied through and through. Finally, Tabs and Tiger moved out to join the Kitchen Cats. Now, Tabs is a loner of sorts (but she has us to protect her all the time, so it isn’t so bad). But I think I need to beef up my numbers.  It’s all a numbers game, I hear. Will you form an alliance with me?  We’ll be the “3rd Force”, you know. We will represent goodness and kindness.&nbs...

Back To Status Quo As New Coalition Dissolves?
1st Mar 2020, by AnimalCare

Indy and Ginger have gone back to their irrespective clans now. For the past 2 days, they formed a temporary alliance (a “coalition” of sorts)…. But we did it for the greater good and for the greater wellbeing of our brothers and sisters. We were sick, so we quarantined ourselves so that our germs won’t spread to them.  Good cats! I think the heat in the past two days also helped. It was so hot and cats like it hot! This morning, they did not need Recovery or AD a...

Indy Goes To The Vet’s (It’s Cat Flu Season)
28th Feb 2020, by AnimalCare

It’s cat flu season. Our cats have escaped many seasons…for years, but this year, we are not exempted. It started with Ginger and shortly after, Indy started sneezing too. So, we took Indy to the vet’s today, even though his appetite is intact and he did not even seem sick except for the occasional sneezing. It’s the same as what Ginger has. The vet says it’s cat flu season and this year, the bug is particularly virulent. Indy has an increased amount of neutrophils...

Ginger….back On Track?
26th Feb 2020, by AnimalCare

Last night, Ginger seemed to have bounced right back and started eating his usual food and behaving in his normal “Gingerly” ways. We felt sorry for him, so we let him stay inside the house (normally, his place is the patio at night – because he has a tendency to spray on all the cushions when no one is looking). But that did not work out because he came upstairs, jumped onto our bed, and started whining all night. So, he went back out to the patio (I think he is more accustome...

Ginger Eats!
25th Feb 2020, by AnimalCare

I think Ginger felt much better with the nebulization done at the clinic, and the medicines must have taken effect because just now, he asked for food and ate his usual Cubgrub again! Yay! Raw food doesn’t smell as aromatic as Recovery or AD. He must have lost his sense of smell this morning so he could not eat. Cats are guided by their sense of smell when they eat. Ginger eats his raw food (Cubgrub)! Let’s hope he continues to recover.

Ginger Goes To The Vet’s (sneezing Problem)
25th Feb 2020, by AnimalCare

Ginger had been having some sort of cough/sneeze which sounded like Heidi’s “reverse sneezing” for about 4-5 days now. I had been giving him Vetri DMG with the hope that it would resolve by itself, but it did not. His appetite has been totally normal throughout and the cough/sneeze only happens at most about 3 times per day. But this morning, he did not want to eat his Cubgrub anymore. Not even his favourite Duck. Something was wrong.  He also did not look too well this mo...

We have provided a full sponsorship of RM150 for the spaying of this dog. Ms Caryn Foo is a new applicant. We have also provided a full sponsorship of the vaccination of this dog (next post). This female puppy suddenly ran into my apartment in September 2019. I named it as “Ah Girl”. At that time, Ah Girl” was very afraid of human. It will only eat the food I feed her after I left. On November 25, she delivered 6 puppies. Within these 2 month 5 puppies has been adopted by kind...
