INDIA has banned the import of foie gras, a government notice said, after animal rights activists complained that the method used to produce the duck liver delicacy was cruel.
“Import policy of the item ‘foie gras’… is revised from ‘free’ to ‘prohibited’,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in the notice on its website.

We had earlier discussed the possibility of Dayang taking back Mami and baby to Sarawak with her, but looks like it’s not necessary anymore. However, Dayang got bitten by Mami during transportation but she has received a tetanus jab for it now. Hope all will be well.

We have subsidised RM200 for the spaying of Mimi & Skitty.

With this spaying, it completes our package of basic medical care for a rescued animal (neutering + vaccination and booster, if needed). The recent ban on soup kitchens and feeding homeless humans is drawing flak from Malaysians from all walks of life. It’s good to know that the majority of Malaysians are still very compassionate and have no qualms about standing up and speaking up for the plight of these less fortunate humans.
