Indy’s World Cup Fever

You know how it is when we were young, whenever Malaysia played in the Thomas Cup, almost every household, you would see children playing badminton in their porch. Or during the Merdeka Cup, I remember my brother and I played football in our garden too and we even turned our table lamps to shine into the garden as spotlights…LOL!

Ginger’s World Cup Fever

Once in four years, around this time, I will get a high absenteeism rate in my classes.
This year is no exception.
It’s the World Cup fever and football-crazy students will skip classes because they are too blurry-eyed to attend classes after spending the wee hours of the night or dawn watching 22 men chase after a ball in a field. Skilfully, no doubt.
But it looks like the World Cup fever does not only affect humans.

Oscar And Molly (photo Updates)

Connie had always thought that Oscar wanted to be a solitary cat. But she thought she’d just try out and see if Oscar was willing to accept Molly (the day we picked up the Ginger family).
On the first day, it was difficult – Oscar and Molly were hissing at each other and Oscar even went on a hunger strike.
By evening, things settled and by that night itself, Oscar was already sleeping next to Molly’s cage! From the second day onwards, they were the best of friends!

The moral of the story:
If a cat is stuck for too long in an inconvenient spot, it will have no access to food or water. Dehydration and starvation will set in quickly.

I saw Willy again this evening.
In typical Willy style, he will sit either across the road or at the drain and wait patiently for me to spot him.
And so as always, I offer him food.
But nowadays, he isn’t hungry at all.
But Willy is a Malaysian cat, so with typical Malaysian courtesy, Willy eats a little bit.

So, Mr Zurik doesn’t seem to want to go home anymore.
He’s here for every meal without fail and he stays around most of the time. Besides his constant noisy episodes with Vincent, he also chases Rosie. But Rosie is not so scared of him anymore now so that’s taken care of.

The Springy Green Netting Beds

I don’t know if it works for your cats, but our cats just LOVE these springy green netting beds.
Thank goodness they wait for their turns and don’t fight over them.
On very hot days, the pebbles seem more comfortable for Indy.
It’s a serendipitous discovery, actually.
We made tunnels for them to play on, but they flattened them and turned them into comfortable springy beds!

According to the adopter, after the two kittens were delivered, Ella’s abdomen appeared to be still enlarged, so Ella was brought to the vet and it was discovered that Ella had placenta retention.
