Bunny On Saturday Morning
12th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Last night, we had a few hours of panic. Bunny started salivating. It wasn’t excessive, yet it was worrying because salivation, as I know it, could be a sign of poisoning. I was worried of the following: 1. Could Cow’s bite be so poisonous that it had begun to cause salivation? 2. Was Bunny allergic to the antibiotic injection, Vetri DMG or Transfer Factor? (I doubt this, as he has taken Vetri DMG and Transfer Factor for time immemorial) The salivation increased after I force-fed him...

Catherine Violet Hubbard’s Animal Sanctuary Dreams Come True, Posthumously
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Source: http://www.onegreenplanet.org/news/sandy- hook-school-shooting-victims-animal-sanctuary-drea ms-come-true/ Despite her tragic demise, her mother has honoured her memory by making her dreams come true – an animal sanctuary in her name. The 6-year-old girl, named Catherine Violet Hubbard, was the type of child who raised money via returnable bottles and cans to buy bones for dogs at the pound. She even had designed business cards for an imaginary animal shelter, listing herself as...

Bunny Eats, Bunny Sleeps, Cow Contemplates…
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

And good news is….Bunny ate his dinner!! Bunny finished one helping of dinner, which is a good start! His appetite is back. Then he took a nap. That’s at 4pm. Cow sat at the clubhouse chair while Indy was on guard duty. Cleo kept Bunny company. Later, we had an unprecedented event of all three girls in and at the condo. This has never ever happened before. Perhaps the girls thought they had better form a Girls’ Union to protect their rights? At 5pm, Bunny’s happy ...

Why We Encourage Ear-Notching, Even For Pets
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Here is a sharing from Koo: A cat feeder in TTDI contacted me for help to spay a community cat, named Lycia, that she’s feeding at her condo car park as there is a male cat and she wants to avoid a kitten litter. She agreed to sponsor the spaying despite having no fixed income and my own financial limitation. She also agrees to the cat’s ears being v-notched.I passed her a cage and carrier. She managed to catch the female cat this afternoon and I rushed to the clinic just before cl...

Diagonals In Blue No. 2 Reaches Jumbo!
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Faizati won Blankie No. 50 (Diagonals in Blue No. 2) and it was supposed to be for herself as she had already won blankets for her cats, but… The moment the Poslaju package arrived, Jumbo staked his claim on it! But Jumbo, don’t you already have the Vibrant Mickey blanket? Cats go crazy over our blankets….I think it’s because I keep all the blankets in the same cupboard as the silvervine powder! Thank you very much, Faizati and Jumbo!!

Bunny’s Visit To The Vet’s
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

I had to interrupt Bunny’s nap to take him to the vet this morning. Hmmmmmph…!! No, Ginger, you do NOT want to go into the room. Trust me, please. There are two madcats in that room. So I got Bunny into the carrier (no problem there) and off we started on our trip to the vet’s. It is quite a long way and Bunny was yowling in the car, as usual. But if I put my fingers through the carrier door, he would be quiet…but only for a few seconds. We reached the vet’s and...

Bunny, The Morning After The Attack
11th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Thank you very much, Maslinda, for bringing the Transfer Factor all the way for Bunny last night. Bunny took it (thank goodness it’s easy to feed Bunny medicines and supplements) and so did Cow (just in case). Cow, eating up his Transfer Factor last night. We could carry Cow last night, but the moment we approached the cage, he started hissing, so it’s a “no” for sure, unless we want to end up at the emergency ward too. Finally, I took the cage back outside because altho...

Cow Ambushes Bunny
10th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

You’ll see why no new cat can enter Bunny’s Place. Ginger, least of all. This evening, Bunny was just walking along the shelf minding his own business and when he reached the end of the shelf, he jumped down. Without any warning, Cow, who was walking on the grass, lunged at Bunny and attacked his poor brother who was caught totally unaware. A body-locked fight ensued (my son witnessed the whole episode) and by the time I rushed out with the spray, it was a little late though I manage...

Willy And His Mysterious Life
10th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Just now, after dinner, as I was cleaning up at the patio, I heard a loud thud suddenly. I thought it was Timmy (who else can make such a loud thud), but it wasn’t. It was Willy. Willy has this remarkable way of making sure I would see him, wherever he is. He was sitting on the pillar (which is along Ginger’s route to and from the rooftop plaza). Only Heidi was with me at the patio and Heidi is no threat to Willy. I offered 3/4 can of Monge. Willy loves Monge. Isn’t Willy sm...

Why Adopt Kittens In Pairs
10th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Here’s why: http://catsneed.com/adopt-kittens-in-pairs-a re-great-why/ No matter how caring and loving us humans are, we have our own social lives to  attend to or daily chores to do. If there is a pair of kittens, they will  keep one another occupied- Eating, playing and sleeping together. This makes  them better pets and their owners will be happy as well. If you are ready for kittens, do consider adopting a pair. Let them grow up together and have their own kind to keep them happy...
