Daffodil And Heidi, Our Senior Patiocats 13th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
Daffodil and Heidi are our very senior patiocats.
Daffodil has been living as a community cat for more than 10 years before we moved here. This would put her age as 13+ now. Heidi was found waiting for me outside our gate one morning sometime last year. The vet said she’s “an old cat” who had been neglected because she had very few teeth left and had a hernia too. She has probably been already spayed as she never comes on heat. So, luckily we waited for 2 weeks before doing any...

How Is Your Paw, Bunny? 13th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
Yesterday, Bunny rested his paw on one of his cat pillows!
Isn’t this cute?
(Note: This is NOT photoshopped; he did it by himself!)
As of last night, I think Bunny feels normal again and the pain must be minimal as he had started playing again. Today, he is as normal as he can be.
The medicine and supplements are really good, when “working together”. Bunny was given Vetri DMG and Transfer Factor for the first day, I sprayed Path-Away lavishly for the first two days too. He is ...

Spay-Neuter And Vaccination Subsidies For 5 Rescued Cats 13th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2014/07/06/a-sunday- rescue-story-8-adult-cats-and-4-babies/
Out of the 8 adult cats we picked up on 6th July 2014, two were suspected to be pregnant, but after boarding for 6 days, it was found that only one was pregnant while 2 were only 4 months old (too young and not heavy enough to be neutered yet). So, 5 cats have been neutered (3 females and 2 males). We have fully sponsored RM160 for the two males and subsidised RM300 for the three females.
The five cats...

For Your Dog’s Longevity 13th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

The Human-Animal Bond
You knew I would work the bond in here somehow, didn’t you? I believe one of the reasons we are seeing dogs live longer is because we treat them as true family members. We take care of them, make sure they are safe and groom them regularly. Leash laws help reduce the number of dogs hit by cars. And, of course, our dogs have access to veterinary care very near the level of hea...

More Than 100 (retired) Chimps Moved To Chimp Haven 13th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
From the Humane Society of the United States:
In case you haven’t already heard, we have a fantastic chimpanzee update to share with you. All of the federally owned chimpanzees from New Iberia Research Center — more than 100 individuals — have officially moved to Chimp Haven, the National Chimpanzee sanctuary in Keithville, Louisiana.
This is the largest group of government-owned chimpanzees to be retired, and, with this transfer, Chimp Haven’s population has doubled in...

A “reshuffle” At The Patio 12th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
Things change.
Impermanence is either beautiful or painful, it depends on how we choose to look at it.
Heidi sits at the Canopy Cafe now. It used to be Timmy’s place.
Vincent is still our loyal guard. This hasn’t changed.
Ginger went inside Timmy’s cage this evening and sat in the red litter box.
Maybe it’s because I cleaned the litter box two days ago (planning to use to cage Cow – a plan that failed totally). I had been really reluctant to clean it because I ...

Bunny’s Healing Fun In The Sun 12th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare
This morning Bunny must have felt much better as he asked to be let out of the room.
The sun is always healing.
And Bunny loves to explore. Which cat doesn’t?
His injured limb seems to be stronger today. He could even jump up.
Taking time to smell the roses…that’s the way to live life.
How come I don’t get to go out to the garden??
But you have a whole garden inside, Indy…
Yet, the grass is always greener on “the other side”.
Bunny was so excited ...
