This story is written by my friend, Mr Huan, one of the two scientists who developed RetroMAD1.
Shared with permission from his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/huan.ung.9/pos ts/10158459066876518
A must-read, especially the last part:
“Please leave us alone. The next time you humans get a disease from us, it will be a hundred times worse.”
But if it may, I’d like it to end with Mr Pang being reunited with Mrs Pang in the Pahang forests.

So far, from the ones we managed to contact, all have said that they are still able to go out to feed their community animals. That is indeed good to hear.
Some restaurants are closed, but the workers continue feeding the animals. Some feeders have also brought their community animals home and this is possible because they kept the colony small, wh...

A Clarification From The Experts (Covid19 And Dogs) 25th Mar 2020, by AnimalCare
One of our dear friends shared this article. It is very informative: https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-k ong/health-environment/article/3076480/coronavirus -hong-kongs-infected-dogs-were
Excerpts:
“B ut infection doesn’t mean the dog is sick or has symptoms. Whereas, a disease is when an infected person or animal develops symptoms, such as fever, cold, or pneumonia,” he said.
“Neither of the two cases had the disease caused by the coronavirus. The public might have c...

Ginger Asks For “trouble” 24th Mar 2020, by AnimalCare
He does it often. We wonder if he’s doing it deliberately to annoy the other party or he is just being ignorant – we don’t know!
Ginger has had this habit of sitting in front of Bunny’s grille and this irritates either Cow and/or Indy to the hilt.
So, two days ago, Ginger was again sitting in front of the grille and Indy was making a ruckus. However, we were all too busy doing something (I forget what), so we paid no attention to the ruckus thinking that with the grille b...

A Lesson In Self-Isolation (by Ginger) 24th Mar 2020, by AnimalCare
Hi, I’m Ginger. About a month ago, I contracted cat flu. Apparently, it’s cat flu season now. My human brought me to see the vet twice and I’ve been on two courses of antibiotics now. I was also given anti-histamines, a mucolytic and a broncodilator. My sneezing has stopped but the cough is a little persistent. My human also continued giving me immune boosters like Vetri DMG and Vetri Lysine Plus throughout.
However, I only cough about twice a day. My lungs are clea...

I contacted more than 10 vets to ask if their clinics or clients have any blood donor dogs, also contacted as many dog-owners I knew, including some of our applicants.
Everyone was very kind and the message was shared. Those whose dogs could not help helped by forwarding the message.
We found a kind man who offered his dogs, and another kind young man who also offered his pet dog.
Finally, Max received some hopeful news and this is his latest text at 11.10pm:
thank God we have one dog who ...

Thank You Very Much, Ms Soo And YY! 23rd Mar 2020, by AnimalCare
Yesterday, we received an SOS from a stranger asking if we could help him get a blood donor for his dog. His dog has tick fever and needed blood transfusion.
I managed to contact a very kind lady who had offered her dogs as blood donors before. Despite the MCO and the long distance, today, she drove three of her dogs to the hospital to test for compatibility. One of her dogs qualify and will donate blood tomorrow to save the dog with tick fever. She will drive her dog there to do it.
Thank you s...
