My Washable Homesewn Mask 1st Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Disclaimer: This is just a sharing. These fabric masks only act as a shield. A contingency plan if you run out of proper masks. Or, something to do if you are at home with nothing to do. You do not even need a sewing machine to make this. It can be sewn by hand.
What the experts say: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2422 9526
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that a homemade mask should only be considered as a last resort to prevent droplet transmission from infected individuals, but...

Ginger’s First Home Nebulization 1st Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Ginger seemed much better after the trip to the vet’s yesterday, with the Baytril injection and the nebulization done at the clinic. Either he’s a hypochondriac (“I’ve been to the vet’s so I’m already much better” – I know MANY human hypochondriacs, believe me – it’s called the Placebo Effect) or whatever that was done helped.
Of course I think it’s the latter. But humans says that 80% of healing IS placebo.
So, last night, I took...

Ginger To The Vet’s For The 3rd Time (needs Daily Nebulizing) 31st Mar 2020, by AnimalCare
Ginger was getting better, but took a turn for the worse yesterday when he started snorting. Although his appetite is intact, I did not want to take any chances. So I got an appointment at the vet’s for 11am today.
At 10.20am, I “geared” up and Ginger and I made our trip to the vet’s in PJ. I disinfected his carrier first, and brought along a spare towel for his carrier (he always pees in the carrier in car trips) and a plastic bag in a cloth bag that will be washed...

We need to keep everyone’s spirits up.

And what does he do when he comes out?
He bugs Gi...

As part of doing our bit to help street animals and their caregivers during this MCO-period, we are contacting our CNRM-applicants (past and present) as well as some other feeders (recommended by donors) to ask if they need petfood.
Many have already stocked up, which is really good. But some are running short and their regular petstores are closed or they have not been able to get stock. Some have taken up the task of feeding nearby colonies; helping each other out. Some are also feeding other ...
