Another Cheating Case (forging Signature Of Vet) 12th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
We know it is the MCO-period and everyone is stressed out, BUT that is still no reason to cheat.
Here’s what happened:
1 Applicant submitted claim for a cat, this is her second submission.
2 The receipt did not have her name on it, also the vet did not sign it, so I informed her.
3 She says she will get a computer reprint of the receipt with her name on it.
4 She did, but the receipt had no signature of the vet.
5 However, the form had the signature of the vet...

Ginger Coughed Again 12th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
I spoke too soon.
Ginger had one bout of coughing last night, so I put him back on the nebulizer.
I notice that the antihistamines help a lot, so I consulted the vet today and she said it’s okay to put him back on the antihistamines. The nebulization can be done on alternate days since his coughing is not serious.
Ginger is most likely sensitive or allergic to the smell of cooking with high heat. The vet said this is very possible.
Apart from the occasional bout of cough, he is okay. He e...

Smurfy’s Back!!! 12th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Yes, Smurfy was mewing very loudly when I opened the door this morning.
Yay!
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/ uploads/2020/04/video1.mp4
https://myanimalcare.or g/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/video2.mp4
Both of them seem to be always very hungry, so I don’t think they are being fed elsewhere. Smurfy, especially, is more hungry than Minnie! I do give him/her more. In fact, I give of them much more than what is required for their size. Kittens need up to double the amount of an adult&rsqu...

MCO-Relief Petfood Donation (Norsafarina Munir) 11th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Pn Norsafarina Munir is a cat caregiver in Tanjung Malim. She was highly recommended through a contact of one of our applicants to receive our petfood aid. Pn Ina (as she is known) currently feeds about 60 cats in all, 30 already brought into her house and 30 at her workplace. She says many cafes and canteens are closed during this period so she helps by feeding the cats in these locations. She did not know about our neutering aid and has only got 5 cats neutered so far. With the hel...

The Extremely Feral Cleo (subcut Gone Awry) 11th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Today was subcut day and I could not subdue Cleo. She was a wild tigress today.
I had just shifted the subcut downstairs to Bunny’s Room. I don’t know if it’s the change of venue (I think it must be, because I’m doing it in their territory so she thinks she has an upperpaw).
She was a tigress.
I attempted many times, pricked myself all over because every time I managed to poke the needle in, she will lunge forward and the needle will fall out. By then, there was blo...

Ginger’s Prolonged And Stubborn Cough (it’s Gone…shhh) 11th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
It’s been three days now and Ginger has not coughed or sneezed. He has finished his Baytril antibiotics and anti-histamines. Now, he is only on the broncodilator and mucolytic.
Today, I skipped the nebulization to check if he would still be alright tomorrow.
The vet did say that after 1 week, we could just do it every alternate day. We have actually done the nebulization for a total of 10 times (10 days) as of yesterday. Will do it on alternate days now, pending the vet’s advic...

Minnie and Smurfy has not got used to two meals per day and they wait for me in the mornings and evenings.
This morning…
They were here as early as 5.30am. I think they both sleep in our porch.
Smurfy was meowing very loudly asking for Coco&Joe’s and he/she ate a lot!
But this evening…
Only Minnie came.
I waited for sometime, went to the gate to shake the kibble jar many times, but there was no sign of Smurfy.
I wonder where Smurfy is….
Maybe their owner has retur...

The Adventures With Minnie And Smurfy 9th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Now, Minnie and Smurfy live in our porch. I’m glad, because they are so much safer in our porch than out on the street.
I do wonder, though, because the Chief of Security says they have a home down the road. Then, why were they so thin and hungry? Perhaps their owner has gone back to the hometown and they had to fend for themselves.
Or, maybe, they have no home.
Anyway, that does not matter at this point in time. I just want to make sure they don’t go hungry.
I have to try my best t...

Minnie & Smurfy’s “social Distancing” 9th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
Minnie and Smurfy were playing on the neighbour’s roof yesterday morning.
I decided to try something new, so I placed food and water on the garbage compartment top. Smurfy came.
Yay! She gets to eat Coco&Joe’s now.
But where is Minnie?
Minnie decided to come through the gate, so there’s a big distance between the two of them. This is good so that Smurfy can eat as much as he/she wants.
Finally, they decided to still share.
Lounging after breakfast.
By mid-morning, Min...

Minnie And Smurfy’s Meal Times 9th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
I’m behind time in my stories. Staying home but there’s so much more to do because of the need to work from home.
This is from two days ago….
Tabs is now on the look out for Minnie.
Minnie came in the afternoon but we didn’t know, so she knocked over the kibble jar. Smart girl, isn’t she?
She came alone and didn’t bring Smurfy with her.
And she definitely WANTS Coco&Joe’s. Kibble just isn’t good enough.
Again, smart girl!
I still mix....

We Do Not Tolerate Dishonesty 7th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
I thought our days of dealing with dishonest applicants would be over when we implemented very stringent policies and safeguards, but no, there was another one a few days ago. However we caught her, so she is now banned ffor dishonesty.
We view dishonesty with grave concern simply because there is no such thing is “accidental” dishonest or “accidental” lying. Lying is deliberate and intentional.
A wise man said, “Those who lie, there is no evil they will not do.&rdq...

Minnie Grey Brings Smurfy Grey 7th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
After a day of now seeing Minnie Grey, she appeared yesterday!
I gave her the Iskhan kibble, but she looked at it and asked for Coco&Joe’s!
And look!! She brought her kitten this time!
The kitten shall be named Smurfy Grey since I cannot tell his/her gender.
I couldn’t feed Smurfy because Minnie was monopolising all the food.
Patience…Slowly does it….
Yay…!! Luckily I bought Iskhan where the pellets are very small.
Smurfy was thirsty!
Minnie...

The Kindness And Compassion Of Our Police Personnels 7th Apr 2020, by AnimalCare
We’ve been hearing such nice and uplifting real stories about how kind and compassionate the police has been during this MCO, especially to animal feeders and street animals.
Feeders have so far had no problems going on their rounds to feed animals in their colonies. Shelter staff and workers are allowed to go through roadblocks to get to their respective shelters.
I myself was able to get through a roadblock last week to take Ginger to the vet in PJ too. The kind policeman took one look a...
