Was It A Toothache, Heidi? 28th May 2015, by AnimalCare
The short story for today is “I think Heidi is going to be alright, after all…Phew!”
Now, here’s the long story…(continuing from last night).
So, Heidi finally came home on her own last night and we found her sleeping on the sofa. That was already a huge relief on its own!
There was only a slight hint of some discharge from her mouth so that was still worrying. Initially, the “drooling” had already made me jump immediately into panic mode. Oh no...

Reminiscing George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” 27th May 2015, by AnimalCare
It was an allegorical and political novel, but I’ve always remembered the “Seventh Commandment” in the story: “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”. It was my father who first shared this with me when I was very young (but old enough to understand what that meant). I finally read the novel much later and was very upset with what happened to Snowball and also Napoleon. And I’ve never read it ever again as I get extremely upset ...

A Heidi Scare 27th May 2015, by AnimalCare
Note: You could fast forward to the end of this article (Heidi is back now). I hate suspense, so I won’t give you one!
Written earlier:
It’s not easy for me to write this as the last few hours have been difficult.
I came home from work today and my husband said Heidi did not look well. She was under the car during dinner time and although my husband placed food for her and she did eat, she did not finish her food. She was also seen drooling.
The word “drooling” made me i...

Bunny’s Wound Has Healed! 26th May 2015, by AnimalCare
Yesterday: https://myanimalcare.org/2015/05/ 24/indy-to-the-rescue-another-heroic-tale-or-is-it /
Bunny was attacked while we were out and there was a puncture wound on his arm. With his FIV+ condition, I was rather worried, so I gave him oral Vetri DMG, Transfer Factor and sprayed Path-Away liberally on the wound, every 2 hours yesterday.
I was really worried he would develop a fever and an abscess, which had happened many times previously.
But take a look at it (this afternoon):
I...

Indy To The Rescue (another Heroic Tale…or Is It?) 24th May 2015, by AnimalCare
This afternoon, we went out to my mum’s to collect the aprons and upon our return, Indy was calling from the grille. Initially, I thought nothing of it, but soon I realised that his tone was very different.
So I went in to check and to my horror, I found Bunny sitting on the table looking very dazed. There were two scratch marks on his face, very close to his eyes. There was also a drop of brown discharge on the table and I noticed scratch marks on Bunny’s arm too.
Quickly, I got ou...

Indy, The Protector Of The Undercats! 24th May 2015, by AnimalCare
It is a known fact that Indy are friends with Tiger and Tabs. And it is also a known fact that Tiger and Tabs find it rather difficult surviving in Cow territory, what with a mad Cow Mau with an unpredictable temper, Bunny the Bully and Cleo (we actually call her the oviraptor because she steals food). Only Pole is not intimidating.
Lately, Indy has been protecting Tiger and Tabs.
I’ll look after both of you, don’t you worry!
The other day, Cow attacked Tabs (no injury, thank good...

We wish to thank our Ms Norely Rahman and the Senior Prep Team at ISKL for ordering these 8 aprons as gifts for the parent-volunteers at the school!
The last one on the right is for a father, so it’s bigger.
All eight aprons are sewn by my mum, making use of the curtain samples donated by Jimmy and Angela. The backing cloth is donated by my mum, and so is all workmanship, hence, 100% of the donations go entirely to our Fund for the animals.
Thank you very much, Senior Prep Team, ...

A Sunday Morning With Mr Zurik 24th May 2015, by AnimalCare
Sunday mornings are unusually peaceful at the park.
Mr Zurik wants to share his story with all of you today and he’s got it all translated into English too! Well, almost all of it, that is.
It’s Sunday today. Now, how do I know this, you might ask? Well, because it’s very quiet at the park.
And that’s good, because I would have the whole park to myself!
With my friend, Heidi, of course.
We love the park.
It’s our home. Well of course, we do have ...

Medifoods’ All-New Vegetarian Buffet Breakfast 23rd May 2015, by AnimalCare
In promoting “Eat just enough. Mostly plants.” and going meatless as often as we can, all for the animals, we bring you our long overdue Saturday segment of food talk.
We’ve been patronising Medifoods at SS18 Subang Jaya for as long as we’ve lived in Subang Jaya. From a one-shoplot grocery selling organic produce, it became a restaurant and now, it already has branches in several places in the Klang Valley, including one at the SDMC (Sime Darby Medical Centre).
