Ginger To The Vet’s (CKD And Paw Wound Check)

We took Ginger and Tabs to the vet for their CKD progression check-up today.
I will talk about Ginger first.
Ginger’s paw wound hasn’t completely healed yet. When the vet removed the scab, there was still a bit of bleeding, and it hasn’t dried up yet. Still a little bit of swelling. He doesn’t need anymore antibiotics for it, but I have to keep applying Fucidin twice daily and monitor this wound. The reason is, there is a condition called “lung-digit syndrome”...

Tabs’ Third Medicated Bath

This is Tabs’ third medicated bath for her balding issue.
I’m using PyoHex shampoo.
Seven minutes of soaking.
It’s a hot day, so she dries fast. That red circular spot has completely healed. The hair is slowly but surely growing back in the bald spots too. She’s got one vial of Advocate spot-on, and will need another two more.
Dry, clean and comfy!

Gerald And Creamy At The Park

Gerald got a trip to the park this morning and Creamy was there too.
I had already spotted Creamy during my morning walk. He was lounging at the park.
So, after my walk, I took Gerald out.
Creamy’s watching us.
Soon, Creamy had disappeared from the park. But when Gerald and I reached home, we found Creamy right there in our porch, waiting for us.

Today is Day 7 of Ginger’s paw wound and a small scab fell off.
Hopefully he doesn’t have to extend his antibiotics after tomorrow. Then, I can go back to giving him his daily probiotics again.

Indra’s First Night Away From Bunny’s Place

While Indra spends most of the time inside the Safehouse, last night was her first night away from Bunny’s Place.
Samantha didn’t even look for her, actually. She would, if it were Kai or Akira. She would call them from the door.
But with Indra, she doesn’t quite bother.

Neutering Aid For 4 Cats In Kluang, Johor (Yu Bee Kian’s) & Updates

We have provided a full sponsorship of RM500 for the neutering of these 4 cats (2 females and 2 males).
The vet charges were RM150 per female and RM100 per male.
Ms Yu’s cat caregiving work is assisted by Mr Cheng Pet Sing. He does the cleaning in her cat house and sometimes, the transportation of the cats to the vet’s.

Neutering Aid For 1 Cat In Kulai (Lee Kim Hai’s) & Updates

We have provided an aid of RM150 for the neutering of this cat, White Socks.
White Socks is a cat at the hawker centre and Mdm Lee and Ms Teo Yen Sia (Winny) are jointly feeding the cats there. Mdm Lee took White Socks for neutering and now White Socks is being fostered by Winny. This is a joint claim. Winny and her husband have also agreed to adopt White Socks and her male kitten.

Gerald And The Girls

This is Tabs’ safe spot in the house. If she is sleeping here, I am not allowed to catch her for feeding supplements or subcut. In any case, even if I tried, I will fail miserably. There are too many escape routes from here, and lots of hiding places.
Indra has more or less established a daily pattern of dashing out of Bunny’s Place and living in the Safehouse all day, if possible. She likes to sit with me at the computer.

This month has been a very trying time for me, personally, with the sudden loss of Misty. Sudden, unexpected loss is the hardest to bear. I still miss her so much every day.

The Blondies’ Breakfast

Gerald is still demanding to eat before everyone else, maintaining his old eating schedule. And still as fussy as ever!
He rejected canned food this morning and only wanted raw chicken gizzards. Oh well…I give in to him because of his blackmailing. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he yowls.

Ginger’s Paw Wound – Day 4

Ginger is no longer isolating himself up on the platforms. He’s eating breakfast with everyone else, and also eating wet food.
Today, he finishes the Meloxicam (anti-inflammatory) and there are another four more days of the Clavumox (antibiotics).
I am thinking of reducing the Tramadol already. I think he’s okay.

Yes, when he takes his long naps.
The funny thing is, he sometimes mews early at dawn, even as early as 5am. I’d still be asleep, and it wakes me up and I’m too tired to go downstairs. Today is Day 3 of Ginger’s paw wound since treatment started.
He is no longer limping at all, but he still prefers to stay up high.
And he only wants kibble for breakfast. For dinner, he eats raw food like everyone else.
