14th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

The link: http://feline-nutrition.org/nutrition&n bsp;(click to read more) What to feed your cat can be one of the most important decisions you make in the health and well-being of your feline family member. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they are especially adapted to a diet consisting of the flesh of other creatures. They are uniquely equipped to eat a diet of small prey and they evolved to eat this diet raw. Cats have no dietary requirement for carbohydrates. Period. They e...

Vincent “jual Mahal” And Wants Kibbles!
13th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

I have been wondering for a few days now, about Vincent’s “jual mahal” attitude. He would come back during breakfast and dinner, but he wouldn’t come to the patio. Instead, he would stay at the corner of the gate in the porch, wait for us to carry him back. Then in the cage, even after food was served, he would whine for some time before actually eating the food. For yesterday and today, we had trouble catching him. For example, tonight, had hid under the car when I...

They come together during the day, foraging for food on grassy fields or just relaxing. A...

Vincent’s Dinner
12th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

Vincent has been coming back for breakfast and dinner daily. This evening, I found him sitting at the corner of the gate in the porch. It’s his usual sitting place ever since his treatment began. So I carried him back to the cage. By now, he knows the routine, ie. he has to go into the cage where he will be served dinner. Then, after eating, he is let out. I guess it can be quite intimidating, to have so many cats staring at you while you eat. Vincent doesn’t eat immediately. He w...

Vincent’s Progress
10th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

I think Vincent is feeling much better today and the pain has reduced. Grooming himself after breakfast. He came back this morning and ate his breakfast. Now, I don’t mix any of the medicine or supplements in his food anymore as he is sensitive to the smell. I mix it with the Nutri-gel and rub it above his mouth. He’s obliged to lick it off. Still grooming after breakfast. He did not come back for lunch, but he did for dinner, and earlier too. Last week, he would wait until it was...

It was Tabs who was at the frontlines yesterday, checking out everything’s that new in Bunny’s Place and this morning, Tabs was also the first to check out the safety of the new shelf. Tabs even had her breakfast there this morning. So yes, everyone, it’s safe. Indy went up several times to the ledge today. I didn’t notice how he did it. Normally, he goes up effortlessly. Do you see the two grey patches above the shelf?  That’s where Indy anchors on to get ...

Something New In Bunny’s Place
9th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

I’ve always wanted to have a (sort of) cat tree in Bunny’s Place. It has to be something natural, of course. A real tree, preferably. But not too tall lest Indy or Pole use it as an escape route to get out. So our best bet was to…well, plant a tree. We have a frangipanni tree in the vegetable garden, and it has two big branches. One of the branches needs to be cut off as it keeps over-arching to the neighbour’s. We decided we’d try to plant this big branch (though...

Vincent’s Stomatitis Condition (and Progress)
9th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

This morning, Vincent ate his food and there was a bit of difficulty giving him his medicine. I tried to open his jaw, but he pulled back. This means it still hurts. We decided caging him was causing him much stress and we did not want him to have a negative perception of being caged, so we made a calculated decision and let him out. Vincent did not come back for lunch, but he did, for dinner! When he came back, I had no choice but to carry him and gently put him back into the condo. He did not...
