A Rescue Attempt Last Night

Yesterday evening, we received a call from a friend who wanted to rescue a dog in Shah Alam. According to her, she is able to pat and touch the dog, but is unable to carry the dog and put him into a car. The good thing is, this friend’s neighbour has already agreed to adopt the dog. The dog also has a tag and collar and is believed to have been abandoned at an industrial area.
So, we contacted a friend who agreed to help.

BARF Treat For Lunch

All the cats had a BARF treat for lunch today!
One tray isn’t enough anymore now that they are eating more BARF, so I used two trays today.
It’s been slightly more than a week of “training” and switching them to a BARF diet. We started with just a little bit and initially only Cleo, Bunny, Indy and Tabs were willing to eat it. Cleo loved it instantly, of course. Cow, Tiger and Pole refused to eat on the first two days. Then, slowly, as I mixed it with their Monge canned...

BARF And A New Brand Of Natural Yoghurt For The Cats

The training to eat BARF is progressing very smoothly with even Cow, Pole and Tiger asking for more BARF now. I’ve increased the BARF to two meals now – breakfast is BARF with Monge and lunch is BARF only.
I will still have to give them Monge as well as kibble since I might not be the only one feeding them at every meal. They need to be able to eat all three types of food. Handling BARF requires grit (on the part of the human) since it’s raw food.

Ginger’s Scare Of His Life

I don’t know if you remember sometime ago, there was a dog with a collar in our neighbourhood, but we could not locate his owner. Well, the dog has been adopted by a friend in the neighbourhood and that’s all good.
This dog must be very young, because he’s hyper active and very friendly. He often tears the netting of his (new) home and escapes to the playground to look for adventures.
Today, the dog came to our house because our gate was open and he even came inside the house....

Harness Training!

When Mimi the cat visited us at Pet Fiesta coming on a leash (like a dog!), I was totally intrigued. Then Oreo wrote to me to tell me that he too goes for walks on a leash (like a dog!).
Oreo suggested that I could try putting a harness on my cats to see if they would take to it. After all, Oreo started off, in his own words, “flipping like a fish” too. This was precisely what Cow did when we put the harness on him years ago and we gave up after that.
