The full article: http://www.citylab.com/housing/2016/ 04/istanbul-street-cats-kedi-documentary/479805/
You’ll find them greeting foreign dignitaries at one of the city’s most famous sights, lounging on café chairs and shop displays, and lapping up attention wherever they go. They have their own Instagram account, and custom-built shelters and feeding stations on the city’s streets. Forget the Byzantines and the Ottomans: The real conquerors of Istanbul are its s...

“Your Cat Won’t Hate You If You Put Him On A Diet” 30th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Cats are not meant to be “grazers”, but many owners have made them so, mistakenly, out of love, fear and ignorance.
The full article is here.
One only has to look at wolves and wild cats to understand that nature doesn’t create fat canines or felines – humans do. The nature of wild animals is to eat only the amount of food needed to survive, and maintain a well-conditioned body through lots of physical activity.
Sadly, the nature of many pet guardians today is to stuff ...

The Children Take Charge (Daffodil’s Story) 28th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Daffodil was unwell yesterday, but she regained her appetite by supper and that was a huge relief to all of us.
Those who have been following the Bird Family stories would know that more often that not, there will always be photos of Daffodil grooming her children and we call her the “Mother of the Year” because really, she is such an excellent mother.
Well, now that Daffodil is not exactly feeling on top of the world (she is still sneezing a little), it’s time for her childre...

Another Blanket Adopted! 28th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Many thanks to Agnes’ forwarding through whatsapp, another blanket has been adopted for RM150! Thank you very much, Nancy!
Strawberries!!
This is a really big single blanket measuring 69 inches by 78 inches.
This cloth is donated by Ms Ooi and it is a very big piece. I had to cut off one end of it, but will use this as patchwork for another blanket.
Since the cloth is already so beautiful as it is, all I needed to do was to add a blue-pink border on both sides.
My mum sewed the backing ...

Daffodil Is Ill, But Is Eating Again….(phew!) 27th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Daffodil skipped lunch today. She looked quite sickly and that really got me worried. Her nose was wet (wetter than it should be) so I think she caught the flu. Since yesterday, I had heard her sneezing a few times.
You’d remember that Tiger was heard sneezing for one day, but only for a day. Ginger had it for two days, was sneezing and he even skipped a meal. Vincent had it for five days but continued eating like a horse through it all. He was sneezing and his nose was dripping a li...

The full article is here. Please do read it.
Detrimental Selective Breeding is Unethical and Inhumane
Today’s version of long-ago domestication efforts is the professional dog breeder who exaggerates certain physical characteristics over several generations of animals. It’s become a shameful display of form over function, and the dogs pay the price.
That’s why we now have legions of English Bulldogs who don’t make it to age 7, German Shepherd Dogs who can barely stand u...
