Vincent (after 8 Weeks) 2nd Aug 2016, by AnimalCare
It’s been 8 weeks since Vincent’s tooth extraction and we are really happy that he has been eating very well. He eats wet food as well as kibble and has very good appetite.
8 weeks and counting!
Here he is, on a kibble snack with his former arch-enemy, Mr Zurik.
The two are still not the best of buddies, but the previous daily antagonisms have all stopped now. The other day, Vincent was sitting on his table and Mr Zurik tried to wrestle it away from him, but Vincent stood (or rathe...

Trying A Herbal Supplement For Tiger 2nd Aug 2016, by AnimalCare
I consulted with the vet today over Tiger’s seizure yesterday and he thinks it’s still too early to administer barbiturates. Yesterday, I had already consulted another vet and he too thinks it’s too early. In a way, I’m relieved that Tiger need not start on barbiturates yet.
This evening, I noticed Tiger scratching quite intensely. Then, I heard a sound of intense scratching for about 2 seconds. I wasn’t sure if he jerked, but the “intense scratchin...

More About FIV+ Cats 2nd Aug 2016, by AnimalCare
There is often misconceptions, fear and ignorance on the FIV in cats. We hope this article might shed some light on it:
Sadly, some of the pets least likely to be adopted at animal shelters across the U.S. are kitties with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Shelter experts realize that prospective pet owners are hesitant to adopt an FIV-positive cat, and they’re hoping to change attitudes through increased awareness.
“Due to the fact people just don’t understand it, they&r...

Another Fit From Tiger 1st Aug 2016, by AnimalCare
I just witnessed another fit from Tiger a few minutes ago. This time, he was under the sofa and I heard the sound. It lasted only about 5 seconds, just like the last one, which was 3 days ago.
The trouble is, I think there would be episodes where I would miss because I am not able to monitor him 24/7.
I would need to discuss treatment options with the vet tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a friend shared this product with me: http://www.nativeremedies.com/petalive/pr oducts/easesure-soothes-nervous-sys...

Tiger Has Another Epileptic Seizure 29th Jul 2016, by AnimalCare
It’s been 9 days since the last episode. Tiger has been on Neurobion (B1, B6 and B12), Fish Oil, CoQ10 and Vetri DMG. I was very hopeful that he would not have another attack, but it happened at 8.12am this morning.
He was sitting in Pole’s condo platform when suddenly, I heard a thud. Tiger had fallen down (luckily it’s a soft landing onto cardboard and the cage floor is rather springy too) and was seizuring.
The seizure lasted about 5 seconds in all. It was too fast fo...
