Grey’s First Toy (updates From Lee Soo Farng)

Here are some updates from Soo Farng:
Grey’s very own collar. He is not able to jump so the collar should not pose much harm.
Soo Farng says, from her observation, the right hind leg seems weaker than his left. Sometimes he is able to stand for a while. When walking, he still collapses.

The Serendipitous “Projek Misty” (1st Orientation)!

It is a totally serendipitous project!
Gerald did not come for breakfast this morning, only Misty was in the porch. I know that when Gerald isn’t here, Misty will not eat wet food but she might eat some kibble, so I poured her some kibble and I think she ate some. I know Misty cannot function without Gerald. Misty needs Gerald; Gerald may not need Misty.

Projek Makan And The Blondies (plus Riley)

Projek Makan is not about to achieve great success….not yet.
Managed to get Kai and Akira to eat this morning. Akira is more or less quite okay now, I can get her to eat. Kai is “intermittent” and I need to try various foods before hitting the right one.
Indra is very, very difficult.
No, it looks like she’s eating, but she didn’t. She just sniffed at the food and walked away. That’s the fourth type I’ve offered her this morning.

AIM Snacks For Tabs And Ginger

I’ve given the AIM kibble and AIM supplements, both of which Tabs and Ginger liked.
This evening, I tried the AIM snacks from Ciao.
Tabs didn’t like it neat, but when mixed with her canned food, she ate it up.
This is the AIM snack from Ciao, Inaba.
Ginger had no problem eating the snack at all. In fact, Minnie and the Monsters tried very hard to snatch some. I had some difficulty keeping them at bay!

AIM Supplements For Ginger And Tabs

This morning, I tried the AIM supplements on Ginger and Tabs.
Both loved it! I guess it must be very tasty. It is a powder packed in sachets.

Updates On Grey (from Lee Soo Farng)

Soo Farng has set up a cage for Grey for the 10 days of crate rest before starting acupuncture or any other supportive treatment. This crate rest is to give the spine a chance to heal, if that is possible.
Even though the vet said Grey has past the “golden hour”, there is no harm giving this 10 day period a chance. Grey is also under medication for these 10 days.

Robin Is Okay!

Ok, the two-day monitoring has passed now, and Robin is fine!
He is a very, very manja cat.
I’m so glad he is okay. I will definitely think twice before giving him another spot-on since he is so flexible that he can turn back to lick the spot.

This is their mini jungle. They all love sitting there as it’s very cooling.

Many thanks to my friends, Andy & Emily, who were travelling in Japan. They helped me purchase these:
These are supplements.
These are snacks.
These are two brands of kibble.
This is Tabs eating it.
And Ginger.
And Ginger sapu habis.
We have two CKD cats now, Tabs and Ginger, both at Stage 2. The instructions on the packets mention it is for cats who are 11 years and older and it’s for kidney health. I used Google Translate (lens) to read.

Creamy Visits

Creamy came today, but he didn’t stay long enough in the porch. By the time I came out, he had already gone.
But I saw him at the playground later, so I brought some food to him there.
He didn’t want any of it. Creamy is also rather choosy.
Despite waiting for him, he didn’t want to eat. By then, Misty had already come.
So I went back home, and to my surprise, Creamy and Misty both followed me back.

The Difference Between Girls And Boys (the Cat Version)

Here it is, with photo proof: It’s the same scratching post, bought from Pet Lovers’ Centre.
This was bought last year, around April 2023, meant for Hiro, but after he passed away, Tabs and Riley took over using it. So it’s about one year old now.
This was bought barely two months ago, for the Monsters. It’s the same product.

It’s not that they have nothing to eat, it’s just that they are so, so choosy!
This morning, Kai ate Cindy’s Complete Pate. The rest didn’t want it at all, not even Samantha, who is probably the least fussy of them all.
Akira ate Cubgrub but only at this specific spot. No other spot is acceptable.
It took a lot of coaxing before Indra was willing to eat, and also only at this spot, and only Coco&Joe’s for this morning. Nothing else is acceptable.

Soo Farng sent these photos while doing the dressing on Grey’s wounds tonight.
Poor Grey got all these wounds while living on the street. So to people who say that street animals can survive, well, not all of them “can survive”.

And they probably mean that literally too, because by coming over the Bunny’s Place, they get to eat grass!!
This was breakfast this morning, before the whole Advocate-licking fiasco by Robin.
Then I let them go over to Bunny’s Place. They haven’t been over for at least two months now.

The Super Fussy Blondies

I decided to try a new food for the Blondies today since they are so incredibly fussy.
This is Cindy’s Complete Pate. It isn’t a new food, though. I’ve tried it before last time on our cats, but our cats didn’t much like it then. This was before the Monsters or the Blondies’ time.

Robin’s Updates

Robin gave me a scare this morning when he licked the Advocate spot-on on his fur and started foaming at the mouth. I administered first aid by flushing his mouth with the garden hose and gave him two charcoal tablets. I also contacted four vets for advice and was told there was no need to bring him in; only to monitor him for two more days.
The incident happened at 9am this morning and I have been monitoring him the whole day.
He appears to be normal and is definitely very active.

Creamy Returns Again!

Creamy came to our porch yesterday.
I think his family may have balik kampung and he came to ask for food.
This happens quite often during festivals when families go back to their hometowns and some of them leave their cats out.
However, he didn’t stay long enough yesterday for me to feed him.
But this morning, he came again.

Medical Aid For 1 Kitten In Cheras (Lee Soo Farng’s) – Grey

We have fully sponsored RM347.00 for the first-line medical treatment for this rescued male kitten, Grey.
We were alerted to this kitten’s case when a friend told us that Ms Lee had noticed this kitten dragging his feet on the road and was attempting to rescue him. It took Ms Lee the next night to finally rescue Grey. Grey is not able to walk possibly due to some injury to his hind legs, but the good thing is that he has a fantastic appetite.
