Neutering Aid For 3 Dogs In Puchong And KL (Hew Khur Shean’s) 22nd Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
We have sponsored RM300 for the neutering of these 3 dogs.
Ms Hew related what happened when she posted Dede for adoption. A man wrote to give the exact description of Dede’s behaviour and physical features, including the tricks he could do, etc. The description was all correct. The man said Dede must be his lost dog (went missing in 2015) but he doesn’t want Dede anymore now since he already has a new dog.
Ms Hew says she will do her very best to find Dede a good home as he cert...

Rosie (Day 32) 22nd Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
We have not done subcut for two days now because the senior vet was worried that it could be ascites (accumulation of fluids). This morning, the senior vet said he would like to palpate Rosie’s abdomen.
Rosie ate a little bit of kibble this morning, and I gave her her wetfood meal and her meds and supplements.
We are at the vet’s.
Rosie was bright and active inside the clinic. Even the senior vet remarked that she looks so much brighter than the last time. She jumped onto the table...

Another Cat Rescue And Rehoming 22nd Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Sometime last week, Sharon contacted us about a pregnant cat outside her music studio and asked if there was any way we could help the cat.
The cat is very friendly too.
So, we asked around and one of our friends agreed to take in the cat. However, Sharon could not catch the cat at the time.
The next day, the cat was seen to be very restless and pacing all over the place.
It was time…and she delivered four babies.
The fourth one, a black kitten, was hardly moving and could not find a ...

Rosie (Day 31) 21st Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Rosie ate a little bit of kibble for breakfast.
She gets five wetfood meals a day and she is more willing to eat now. In fact, she seems to like home-cooked now.
There was no subcut today as her tummy still looks very big.
However, if my eyes did not deceive me, I noticed her gums has a slight tinge of pinkish this evening.
Chilling with everyone else. Rosie is under the table.

Visiting The RedQ And The Doggies!! 21st Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Ref: https://myanimalcare.org/2017/03/18/kudos-air-asia /
When I wrote about the RedQ doggies 3 days ago, I hadn’t expected the overwhelming positive response we got from the general public. Even TheSunDaily and the FMT later republished our photos (those photos were taken by my husband), publicised the story and received even more overwhelming support!
We are extremely touched that so many people support kindness to street animals.
Today, my son, Jia-Wen, had to go to the RedQ, so I tagg...

Rosie Eats (Day 30) 20th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Rosie ate a little bit of kibble a total of 3 times today – breakfast, after-breakfast and lunch.
By now, we are used to the pattern – it’s all up and down. One day, she will eat and the next, she will not.
An after-breakfast snack
Lunch
And because Rosie would only eat kibble, everyone else also had a kibble lunch. Rosie rules!
This morning, I was worried about Rosie’s bulging abdomen. Many days ago, this happened too and I rushed her to the vet’s only to find o...

One of our readers, Merlinda, requested for our foldable bags with lining.

Foldable bags without lining:
Small (13 by 17): RM20
Medium (15 by 18): RM25

A Rescue And Rehome Case 19th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
More than a week ago, my friend shared the news that a mother-cat had given birth at the stairs of some shoplots. My friend provided food for the mother-cat and ensured the whole family was safe.
We asked our friends if anyone would be willing to adopt the whole family and thankfully, one of our friends agreed to take in the whole family!
So, everything was arranged.
But like in any movie, there would be a sudden twist.
One day before the adoption was to take place, the mother-cat too...

Rosie (Day 29) 19th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Rosie ate a wee little bit on her own this morning. Just a little bit.
She is often intimidated by a crowd, feline or human.
But Heidi, Tabs and Tiger live in the “rest of the house” now, so the moment they hear the sound of kibble, they will come upstairs.
For medicine and supplements, I have to use wetfood. So, this also ensures Rosie has at least five wetfood meals in a day. Because of the TCM herbs, I divide the meds/supplements sessions into five times per day.
Subcut this e...

Rosie (Day 28) 18th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Today was a rather uneventful day.
Rosie wasn’t interested in eating again. The vet had already told me that it’s going to be up-and-down for an animal afflicted with liver disease.
We took Rosie out on the harness for some morning air. She didn’t want to walk, just sat with us to listen to the chirping of the birds.
My friends came over to help with OPM massage but Rosie was scared, so they didn’t do it. We’ll just do it by ourselves since it’s massagin...

Stray Cat Wanders Into Nursing Home And Decides To “work” There! 18th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
The whole story and video: http://www.lovemeow.com/stray-cat-wand ers-into-nursing-home-and-decides-to-work-there-23 15958989.html
Let’s encourage and support workplaces that are animal-friendly!
P.S. It would be good if homes for the elderly allow residents to bring along their pets and also encourage other residents to look after pets. It enriches their lives because looking after another being, especially a pet, gives purpose to one’s life.

Rosie’s 2nd Acupuncture Session (Day 27) 17th Mar 2017, by AnimalCare
Rosie enjoyed her time at the patio today; she slept from 9am until almost 1pm!
Then, Connie came over to take us to the vet for Rosie’s 2nd acupuncture session.
The vet said Rosie’s pulse is still weak but we have to give it at least 2 weeks as TCM works slowly. Rosie is still very yellow (eyes, ears, gums), but the yellow colour takes a long time to clear too. Also, sometimes, even the blood test results might show a high level and it takes a week before the levels come down in ...
