Neutering Aid For 4 Dogs In Rawang (Danny Lee Choon Kuan’s)

We have sponsored RM400 for the neutering of these 4 dogs (3 females, 1 male).

These 4 dogs were trapped and rescued in Rawang. The security guards were telling us that some residents complained to MPS about the pack of dogs here.

Rosie (Day 40)

Today was the blood test to check if the EPO had worked.
Rosie’s RBC and PCV (HCT) have both dropped further. The vet said we cannot tell for sure if the EPO had not worked as it sometimes take a longer time to work.
In any case, we will continue to do all we can so that Rosie is comfortable and happy.

Rosie (Day 39)

Today was an uneventful day for Rosie, but quite eventful for me.
It was a lovely morning, so I put Rosie in the cage so that she could get some fresh air and sunshine.
She soon fell asleep and it was all peaceful until…
Yes, Mr Zurik had to come and Rosie started mewing.
Rosie is really scared of him.
So, I brought Rosie inside the house.
Rosie helped me with the sewing of bags.
She has been eating quite a bit.
Oh, the best thing today is that Ginger touched noses with Rosie. Yay!

Watching early morning cartoon on tv!
Eating with Ginger and Heidi.
I’ve noticed that Rosie feels intimidated by Heidi and Tabs because these two are eating machines. They finish their food really fast and go after Rosie’s, so I have to keep these two at bay.
Lunch with Ginger. Ginger is fine. As big as he is, he is NOT an eating machine.

Rosie’s 3rd EPO Jab (day 37)

Today was Rosie’s 3rd EPO jab.
It was a very long wait at the clinic.
We also dewormed Rosie.
Rosie weighed 3.91kg. This increase has been gradual but it is due to the liver being swollen. On the last trip just two days ago, Rosie was 3.6kg. She is actually losing condition, so the weight increase just tells us that the liver is continuing to swell.
After this 3rd jab, we will wait until Thursday or Friday before doing a blood test to see if the EPO is effective for Rosie.

Rosie’s 3rd Acupuncture Session (Day 36)

We’re really grateful to our vet-acupuncturist who made time for Rosie today so that she could have a session.
Rosie is very perky now – trying to dig her way out.
She even ate in the car!
Twice.
And she ate at the clinic too.
Nine needles today.

Taking Care Of The Outside Equilibrium

For more than a month since Rosie fell sick, the outside equilibrium has been disturbed.
The one most affected is Daffodil. Not only has she rejected (not recognised) Rosie, she also does not want to come into the house anymore. It’s rather sad, because it took us so long (I have lost count, but I think it did take us 2-3 years) to slowly allow her to feel comfortable and she finally took up residence on our bed, making it her home. Rosie’s 2nd EPO Injection (Day 35)

Today was Rosie’s second EPO jab.
Rosie’s HCT (equivalent to PCV), at 20.3%, was below the lower boundary of the normal range, which indicates that she is getting more and more anaemic, which is, unfortunately, expected, since the liver makes blood and Rosie’s liver is badly injured.

Bunny The Bully

Yes, Bunny’s almost blind, but cats function with their sense of smell, so Bunny can still bully.
He was on one of this almost-daily trips out to the garden.
Normally, when Bunny comes out, he expects all the PatioCats to run. Whoever doesn’t run will be subject to being screamed at.

Reversible Bags (fundraising) And Two More Hobo Bags

It was from the making of the hobo bags (with lining) that gave my mum the idea of making reversible bags!
Instead of doing just a white/beige lining which involves the making of two bags joining together as one, we could make two bags with presentable fabric so that each bag can be turned inside out and it becomes “another bag” (with a different fabric)!
