Tabs’ Laundry Basket @ Toy
27th Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

Tabs loves this laundry basket. She will sit in it every chance she gets, and so does Indy. Knowing that cats like sitting in such things is rather worrying, though, because this is what traps look like. Even boxes left outside is a potential “cat trap” because cats just love getting into boxes. We have, on many occasions, removed boxes and cardboard shaped like a small “shelter” from the road. Cats who don’t realise danger might just go inside and stay there.

Five Bags To Singapore (fundraising)!
26th Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

We would like to thank Kathleeen (from Singapore) who ordered these bags from us. Please note, however, than shipping to Singapore is very expensive. Four applique bags, sewn by my mum: And one reversible medium-sized tote bag, sewn by me. All applique bags are priced at RM60 (by donation) and the price of tote bags depends on size and whether it’s single-layered and reversible (double-layered). Save marine life, use cloth bags instead of plastic bags!

Daffodil’s News And The New Homecooked Catfood Recipe
26th Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

Here are some photos taken over the last 2 days: Her tshirt is only worn after the paste is applied to the tumour. Still regular small meals, but she’s eating a bit more now. Sometimes, she comes down to eat, but most of the time, I take the food upstairs for her since I’m feeding her every few hours per day. Daffodil eats on her own and doesn’t require any force-feeding. She still likes to go upstairs but instead of the furry mats, she sleeps on our blanket on the bed now...

Cow Portraits
26th Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

Despite the numerous frightening, suspenseful and requiring-visits-for-tetanus-jabs episodes written about Cow in the last 11 years, I have never doubted that Cow has a good heart. He is the most empathetic cat we have and if I’m sad, he’s the first to know and to comfort me. Cow had petting aggression previously. The longest you could pat him is 3 seconds. It could be caused by static electricity or if she is a kitten, just your cat being playful. But some cats just don’t tol...

20 Mini Bags (fundraising)
24th Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

We would like to thank our supporter, DT, for ordering these 20 mini bags from us. I finally finished sewing the last one two days ago! Hope they are in time for “sedekah Hari Raya” to the orphanage (as per plan) and more importantly, to encourage the use of cloth bags as opposed to plastic bags. We are very, very concerned about indiscriminate plastic bag and plastic material disposal which results in killing marine life. Please recycle all plastic material or better still, cut dow...

Ginger At The Table
23rd Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

Ginger is getting to be very, very picky with food. He learnt it from Daffodil! Look at him! He is occupying three-quarters of the seat, mind you. That’s not your food, Ginger. Indy and Tabs, asking for food. Indy loves coming to the sink, irrespective of whether there’s food scraps or not. He particularly likes it when I brush my teeth. He likes the scent of toothpaste. LOL!

Daffodil And Her Small Meals
23rd Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

Daffodil has been going up and down the stairs, but most of the time, she prefers to be upstairs. So far, no signs of limping, which is a relief! She must be wondering why I’m taking so many photos of her! The only “problem”, if you could call it that, is that she is very fussy with food now. I’ll never know exactly what she wants to eat. You offer, she sniffs at it and turns away. Her taste changes very quickly. She can love one type of food for one meal and rejects ...

The Whale Was Full Of Plastic Bags
22nd Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

This video might be disturbing for many, and it is indeed sad that they had to shoot the whale as he/she was dying. But the whale insisted on coming to the shore, to send us all a message. The whale had become a “plastic” whale, with so many plastic bags in his/her stomach. Let him/her not die in vain. Please cut down on the use of plastic bags and save marine life. It is the ocean that gives life to the land. The video: https://www.facebook.com/SkyOceanRescu e/videos/242560219...

Still A Very Uphill Task
21st Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

I received an email from a student recently and she was trying very hard to get her educational institution to be kinder to the dogs and cats who live within the campus. But all her efforts failed. Being young and idealistic (weren’t we all there too, once upon a time?), I could empathise with her frustrations. In my reply, I had to bring her to reality and since she is a student, I felt she would be able to understand how our federal laws (let alone the council by-laws) work and why anim...

Neutering Aid For 8 Dogs In Tanjong Karang (Ng Ven Dee’s)
21st Jun 2017, by AnimalCare

We have sponsored RM800 for the neutering of these 8 dogs (3 males, 5 females). Our maximum rate for dogs is RM100 each and we definitely cannot cover transportation of the vet. We have also advised Ms Ng to apply for SelangorNeuteringSubsidy since she qualifies.  This way, it can free up some of our funds to help those who are not born in Selangor and those residing in the rest of Malaysia. From: vendee ng Date: Fri, Jun 16, 2017 at 10:43 PM Subject: Requesting Sponsor For Neutering. To:...
