Gotanjoji Temple, The “Cat Temple” In Echizen, Japan

A charming temple beloved by cat fans, Gotanjoji Temple is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple known for its cats, who are cared for by the temple monks. The former abbot started caring for cats during his time, where he took in abandoned cats, got them vaccinated and neutered too.

Gerald And Misty Today

All is well with Gerald and Misty today.
It’s back to normal for them now.
Gerald doesn’t whine, he just calls to make his entrance each time.
This morning, after I observed both of them atop the car in the porch, I still did not go out. By the time I did, Gerald had gone away. Only Misty remained.
So I let Misty in to eat breakfast.
She was more comfortable eating outside in the porch. But I still hope and aim to let her in every day, even for a little while so that she feels comf...

Robin’s Balding Issue

I did not take Robin to the vet’s today for his balding issue, but I took photos to show the vet.
Since he is itching, it is more than a cosmetic problem and needs to be addressed.
The vet said it could be due to a food allergy problem too and the only way would be to restrict him to just one single protein for about 2 months!
No one else has this balding problem in the Catio, only Robin.

Indra To The Vet’s (loose Stools)

I managed to resolve Kai and Akira’s loose stool problem, but not Indra’s.
Early this morning, I found several spots of loose stools, so I sifted through the CCTV playback to identify whose it was. It was Indra’s.
Hence, I took Indra along with Tabs to the vet’s today. Better have her checked.
As it turned out, Indra has a fever. Her ears were really hot and her temperature was 39.3 degrees.

Tabs To The Vet’s (recheck After 3 Weeks Of Increased Subcut Fluids)

Today was Tabs’ check-up after 3 weeks of daily 150ml subcut fluids.
She already improved so much in appetite and demeanour once I increased the subcut fluids. She is also on the AIM food.
It’s encouraging news from the blood test results.
Her creatinine is stable, her urea came down (this was the main concern the last time) and her phosphate is normal.
The urea came down from 16.6 to 13.8 now. The vet says it’s good. I can decrease the subcut to 6 days per week instead o...

I have been up since 5.30am this morning and it’s been quiet….
And look at what I am seeing in the CCTV footage right now….

With Gerald and Misty back in the porch, there’s peace in Bunny’s Place again.
Well, at least it’s quiet and the Blondies can take restful naps without having to listen to the constant nonstop loud whining.

Ms Yu does her CNRM work with Mr Cheng Pet Sing. Her cats are all housed in a rented house (specially for the cats). It used to her father’s house, but he has since passed away. The Blondies And Their Loose Stools

It has been a few days ago when I noticed loose stools in the sandpit and one particular litter box.
Just before that, there was one day when I saw the remains of three cockroaches in Bunny’s Place. And coincidentally it was around that time that I gave everyone a pinch of greens.

Misty came into the house and went into the kitchen for dinner just now.
That is Misty eating dinner. She loves kibble.

The Reinforced Cat Tree

As promised, Tony came to reinforce the cat tree yesterday.
With extra screws and soldering, it is as solid as steel now and not at all wobbly. But guess what, nobody wanted to use it!
When it was wobbly, everyone went up and wobbled around. Now, that it is super solid, nobody went up!
Just give them some time, they will use it, I’m very sure!
