Miao’s Updates (Day 3 After Surgery)
15th May 2024, by AnimalCare

The vet updated that Miao is doing well. She is eating. Her breathing is very good too. An X-Ray was done and it is not bad with just a little inflammation, which is expected (Nomi had this too). These are videos of Miao, sent by the caregivers when they sent Nomi back for a check-up today (updates later). https://animalcare.my/wp-content/uploads/2 024/05/2-v-2.mp4 https://animalcare.my/wp-content/ uploads/2024/05/1-v-3.mp4 https://animalcare.my/wp -content/uploads/2024/05/3-v-4.mp4 The post Mi...

Eating: Boys Vs Girls
15th May 2024, by AnimalCare

I’m sure you’ll get the same results with humans too! How boys eat: As always, such a joy to feed them! And Robin even wanted more after that. Boys eat so well and Minnie joins them with the same terrific appetite! Now, for Gerald and Misty, of course, Gerald eats more but Misty eats well too. I think it’s because they are free roaming so they use up more energy? Our gardening cat. Then, here comes the all-girls battalion… How girls eat… Only Samantha is eati...

14th May 2024, by AnimalCare

We have provided an aid of RM3524.00 for Ah Miao’s diaphragmatic hernia repair and hospitalisation. Ah Miao was sent for neutering at another vet, but went into dyspnea when she was anaesthesised. The spaying was aborted immediately and she stopped breathing 3 times during recovery. Upon further investigation at our vet, Miao was found to have diaphragmatic hernia, sustained some time ago. Unfortunately, Miao was also pregnant. The caregivers made the decision to abort the pregnancy during...

Visiting Miao At The Clinic
14th May 2024, by AnimalCare

I drove to the clinic to visit Miao today. https://animalcare.my/wp-content/uploads/20 24/05/1-v-drinking.mp4 When I arrived, Miao was busy eating and then drinking. She drank a lot of water and I later found out it’s because water had to be withheld yesterday. But she is still on drips, so that’s okay. She was a bit apprehensive at first because I’m a total stranger to her, but it only took 1-2 minutes for her to warm up to me. This is my first time meeting Miao. When I put ...

Best To Do Our Own Research
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

We are extremely disturbed to hear some feedback from a kind lady who had earlier asked if we knew of any vet clinic that could board her rescued sporo-cat. As you know not every clinic can accept boarding for sporo-cats because the disease is zoonotic (it not only speads to other animals but also to humans). But having said that, sporotrichosis is 98% curable. It may look horrendous with all the lesions, but it is curable. So, it was recently that a clinic was featured on a reliable news portal...

The vet just updated again with the most fantastic news – Miao is already eating! Miao is stable so far, she will be kept in the oxygen chamber tonight. And, Miao has started eating!! She is also breathing better now. Cats are such resilient creatures, aren’t they? And vets are such wonderful people! Our Gardening Cat, Misty
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

If Heidi was our taiji cat, Misty is now our gardening cat! I wanted to plant a tree here to create some jungle-like atmosphere or at least some leafy shade for the Stargate platforms, but whatever we plant now, it cannot have any bushy undergrowth. It cannot have hiding places for reptiles. It must have a thin trunk, so we found this lemon tree. Lemons! Hopefully, in a month’s time! Misty was following me around the garden. This is a sunkist tree. The fruit will be green with slight y...

Miao’s Surgery Is Starting Soon
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

The caregivers were informed this morning that the surgery is scheduled for his afternoon and have been advised to visit Miao as this is a very, very high risk surgery and to put it directly, she could lose her life. Unfortunately at the time of writing this blogpost, the caregivers have not visited due to work. We would like to request, again, for your kind wishes and positive healing thoughts for Miao as she undergoes this surgery to save her life. Thank you, dear friends. An update at 3.12pm...

Breakfast With The Blondies, PorchCats And The Monsters
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

Samantha, as usual, will eat. She’s the easiest to feed. Kai didn’t want any of the raw food, but settled for cut-up raw meat. Akira too. But sometimes, they can be coaxed to eat after that. Or do a banana leaf style. That works too…sometimes. Gerald and Misty came in to eat this morning. Misty even wanted to share Gerald’s plate. That’s how close she is to Gerald. Then they wanted to come into Bunny’s Place but husband came downstairs and Gerald is so...

Breakfast For The Blondies
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

It always starts with laying out all the raw food we’ve got for them in four bowls and later, it’s all about “musical bowls”, shifting the bowls around until I please their taste buds for that meal. My good luck streak ended at yesterday’s breakfast. I could not get Kai and Indra to eat. Only Akira and Samantha. So, Samantha ended up with two bowls. Take your pick, madam. Indra has been spending a lot of time in the Safehouse with me. The thing with cats (and mo...

Gerald Visits Bunny’s Place With Misty
13th May 2024, by AnimalCare

Yesterday, Gerald paid Bunny’s Place a visit! Breakfast first. Now, when it’s still dark, I don’t go out to the porch anymore. I feed them inside the house. It’s also good training for them to get used to feeling safe to come inside.   Then Gerald started whining very loudly. It’s not that he wanted to go back out. This time, he wanted to go visit Bunny’s Place! Welcome, welcome! Of course Misty follows him like a magnet. Literally, she’s “s...

Updates On Miao (awaiting Diaphragmatic Hernia Surgery)
12th May 2024, by AnimalCare

The vet sent updates on Miao this evening. Miao is okay and alert. She could only eat a little at a time because if she eats too full, she feels unwell as part of her stomach is already in the chest cavity due to the tear in her diaphragm. The vet is arranging to do her surgery either tomorrow or on Tuesday. Appointments are very tight at the clinic. We would like to request for your kind wishes and healing thoughts for Miao. This is an extremely high-risk surgery and just like Nomi’s, wit...

Robin’s Second Medicated Bath And Heroic Tabs!
12th May 2024, by AnimalCare

Today was Robin’s second medicated bath with Pro-Hex. He has a balding and itching problem, so this was prescribed along with restricting his diet to only a single protein for at least 6 weeks. I’ve failed with the single protein diet after 3 days because he got sick of eating chicken. Moreover, trying to identify an allergen is very difficult thing. Our cats eat chicken, quail, duck, rabbit, turkey and canned fish. Some of the recipes come mixed so it’s hard to single out the ...

The Amazing Feline Gut Soothe From Adored Beast
12th May 2024, by AnimalCare

I have heard of how effective Adored Beast’s Feline Gut Soothe is, but have not used it before because previously, all our cats who had gut issues also had CKD and this product is not recommended for CKD cats. But now, it’s Indra who has loose stools, so I was able to buy it for her. The product is amazing! The day after I gave her the first dose, I already saw remarkable improvement and after the second day (today), her stools are BEAUTIFUL! For pet parents, you know what I mean by ...
