“The Reason I Have To Eat Dim Sum” (by Ginger) 2nd Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
Ginger vomited all his breakfast out today.
He had eaten his breakfast with everyone else.
Then, we opened a new bag of kibble.
Nobody can resist the sounds and smell of new kibble, so everyone came for a snack and Ginger got one too.
Then, it happened.
Ginger vomited and everything came out. He had eaten too much.
Of course, immediately after that, he came into the kitchen to ask for food again.
And this is why I can only eat “dim sum” (small amounts).
If I eat too much at one go,...

Ginger’s “dim Sum” Sessions 1st Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
Ginger’s has recently developed a habit of eating only “dim sum” and not full meals.
He seems to be unable (or unwilling) to eat a full meal. Instead, he will come whining for small bits of food frequently.
We call it his “dim sum” sessions.
Mew, mew, mew….I want some dim sum, please.
And he only eats a wee bit, something like less than 10 pellets, and leaves the rest.
Then, within minutes, he comes again, whining for another small meal.
Sometimes, V...

A New Strategy For Pilling Vincent 29th Aug 2018, by AnimalCare
Thanks to the various liquid foods I bought for Heidi yesterday, I decided to use a reward system for Vincent now.
“Eat your tablet and you will get yummy liquid food right after”
It worked today. Well, there was a bit of a struggle, but it wasn’t too bad, because he got to lick up Cindy’s Chicken with Goat’s Milk right after.
Let’s see how long this novelty can last and act as an inducement. I don’t expect it to last very long, though.
Vinc...

Heidi Is Back To Normal 29th Aug 2018, by AnimalCare
This morning, Heidi jumped onto our bed and slept beside me, on the right. This is her daily normal routine (which she skipped yesterday because she was unwell).
Normally, every morning, I would have Heidi on the right and Tabs on the left, on the bed.
Heidi ate breakfast, as usual. Home-cooked plus raw.
Then, Heidi followed us for taiji, lounged at the playground and did her usual. We decided to not let her linger, so we carried her back.
And she ate her egg yolk!

Heidi Eats Supper! 28th Aug 2018, by AnimalCare
Yay!
Heidi finally got off her basket on the kitchen counter and went to the living room.
And when Indy made the supper call, Heidi came into the kitchen!
I offered home-cooked chicken but she didn’t want any of it. I didn’t want to give the liquid food again, hoping that she might want some solid food now, as an indication that she is feeling better, perhaps?
So I offered Monge’s Tuna with Chicken and yes!!
The upside down Tupperware container is Heidi’s little table.

Heidi Is Unwell 28th Aug 2018, by AnimalCare
Heidi is not well.
It started last night when she refused supper. I thought she was just not hungry but this morning, she didn’t want to eat breakfast either.
Normally, Heidi will eat breakfast with everyone, and then, follow us to the playground for taiji. She loves going to the playground, watching the birds and playing at her herb stash. Then, she will sit at the bench and watch the world go by.
When we are done with our practice, she almost never follows us back. It’s got to do w...

Ready, Aim…. Oops! (Vincent’s Pilling Sessions) 28th Aug 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent has been eating like a pig lately, which, of course, if a good sign, even though his weight has remained at a measly 3.2kg and he still looks thin and emaciated.
But strength-wise, I think Vincent is stronger than me.
Now, we have to give him the antibiotics for another week, which means, more battles.
After giving me a reprieve for 1-2 days, he is back in full force to resist the tablet again.
Of course the burqa has failed, so we just wrap him up with the towel leaving his head out.
An...

We have sponsored RM300 for the neutering of these 3 dogs.
According to Ms Choo, the black dog was so fierce that she had to be sedated in the car before being transported out to the clinic. Ms Choo was unable to take a photo of the surgical wound, but we obtained a letter from the vet verifying that the dog had been spayed. We have advised Ms Choo to request the assistance of the vet or clinic assistants to take a photo of the surgical wound while the dog is still under anaesthesia should she e...
