Neutering Aid For 2 Dogs In Desa Petaling (Liu Sook Fun’s)
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

We have sponsored RM200 for the neutering of these 2 dogs. Dear Dr. Chan, Attached are pictures of 2 females dogs that are rescued from a scrapyard at Desa Petaling. The scrapyard owner locked the 2 female dogs in cages because he didn’t want them to get pregnant. They were put in a place which is quite dirty and without any sunlight. We offered to help the owner to have the 2 dogs spayed and he agreed. After healing, they will be released back into the scrapyard but the owner will take ...

Cubgrub’s Duck….who Would Like To Try?
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

I tried my luck just now. Duck is the last flavour for us to try. We’ve tried Rabbit (Vincent and Bunny eats it). Quail – only Bunny was willing to eat it. So, today, we tried Duck. I was worried no one might eat it.  Believe it or not, Vincent loved it! For the first helping, I added wheatgrass (to entice him to eat). But he clearly loved the duck. And kept asking for more and more!! Tabs, do you want to try duck? It’s poultry, it’s bird. You can eat it. Sniff, sn...

Vincent’s Blood Test Results (Yay!)
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

Time for your check-up at the vet’s, Vincent! Waiting for our turn. Okay, now, where do I begin to tell today’s story? There’s so much to tell. The vet says Vincent really looks good.  He weighed 3.3kg at the vet’s (using the clinic scale). His hydration is good and we are to maintain the subcut at 200ml daily. The ulcers aren’t as inflamed, but they are still there.  This is due to an auto-immune condition so we really don’t have a solution to it,...

A Soil-Eating Attempt And A Wheatgrass Treat!
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

I’m watching Vincent like a hawk… Pee-ing…okay. Okay…go od, he is coming back to the house. But wait, he suddenly turned and headed for the stash… There he goes… Stop, Vincent, stop! I caught him licking the pebbles. Not eating soil, but just licking the pebbles. So, I shooed him off from there. He headed for the kitchen. I know what he wants – he wants his wheatgrass. Vincent loves wheatgrass. Actually, so do I. This brand tastes really, rea...

Spider-Cat Strikes Again
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/1 0/spider-cat.mp4 Indy: Piece of cake! Grooming to express satisfaction We haven’t done anything about that un-netted gap on the right because I do want to give him a chance to behave (not spray). Let’s see how it goes…. But the raised netting does act as a deterrent of sorts. It is harder to come in now in that it requires more effort to do it. So he doesn’t come in so often. Indy: Ha ha ha….you think?  ...

The Panther Attacks His “prey”
3rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

After staying off a total raw diet for while, I decided to try again this morning. This is Coco&Joe’s Chicken. https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploa ds/2018/10/2-video-1.mp4 Look at the panther going for his “fresh” prey! He didn’t finish that humongous amount I offered (of course, of course) but he wanted something else. So, I offered Cubgrub Chicken and yes! He ate it! Yes, we are back to raw food, which, as his first vet had said, is best for him because of i...

Vincent Vomited Again
2nd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

It must be the sneaking soil-eating I caught him doing this morning. Saw some vomit just now, at his favourite spot at the ladder upstairs. Anyway, tomorrow we will have all this checked out at the vet’s. Tonight’s supper… I think all of them just love the wheatgrass powder.  I mixed it with some canned food and everyone loved it.  Well, actually, I love this wheatgrass powder too! Vincent left this much behind, but granted, I gave him a lot. Later, when I went ups...

Vincent’s Secret Stash (of Soil)!
2nd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

I followed Vincent when he went out to the patio this morning… Pee-ing..ok, good boy. And then, I caught him red-handed! He had cleared a small space by pushing the pebbles away to expose a small patch of soil so that he has a secret stash now!! https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads/ 2018/10/2-video.mp4 I caught him eating soil again, but managed to stop him in time. I quickly covered the hole with as many pebbles as I could find. But as you can see, it’s quite hard – ...

Vincent’s Morning
2nd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

The morning started at 5am, as usual. Vincent had a raw meat breakfast. Followed by canned Cindy’s. Indy has proven himself so he didn’t come in this morning. BUT…there were urine sprays in the room, which means, he came in in the night. Hmmmph! Ginger’s bonus trips into the room. I weighed Vincent this morning, before breakfast. He was 3.4kg. The vet was right. The increase (which we celebrate over) is mostly due to the subcut fluids, but 3.4kg is good. Slow and st...

Lacing With Wheatgrass
1st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

Just in case Vincent is anaemic, I bought wheatgrass powder today. This is the same product that I bought for Baggy last time when she was diagnosed FeLV+ and severely anaemic (Baggy licked rocks). Regarding wheatgrass, I dare not give them the grass because of a very scary incident many years ago when Tabs gorged on our own wheatgrass plant and got very, very sick. It started with vomiting, then high fever and she couldn’t eat anymore.  A long story cut short, the first vet got it al...

I Did The Subcut All By Myself!
1st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

Yay!! When there’s a will…. I am so, so afraid of poking a needle into the skin, but I had to do it alone today, so… I did it! I did it! And waited for the entire duration for the 200ml fluids, without daring to even move my hand. So scared to lift up my hand in case the needle slides out. We did it, Vincent! Yay! So relaxed, ya?

Cleo Protests!
1st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

So, since Spider-Indy scaled the grille and came in, Cow and Bunny got to come in too just because of the thunderstorm (Cow is afraid, Bunny isn’t – he probably doesn’t even know or cannot hear the thunder). Cleo: It just isn’t fair. You said this would be OUR room – Pole’s and mine, and now the boys are inside too. They are already stinking up the room. It isn’t fair!!! But Cleo was right – I could smell the stink of urine already and it’s ...

Lace The Food!!
1st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

Vincent wanted to eat during the heavy thunderstorm this afternoon, so, yes…eat up, Vincent! I gave Vincent a mixture of Cindy’s Tender Chicken and Tuna with Bonita (skipjack – which is very fishly fragrant). Then, a brainwave came….lace this mixture with the probiotics! The strong fishy aroma might mask the scent of the priobiotics! Why not, why not?!! And like a woman possessed, I gleefully mixed a generous amount of the probiotics to the fishy food… And&he...
