Vincent Entertains Guests 8th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Subcut in the afternoon.
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/upl oads/2018/10/WhatsApp-Video-2018-10-08-at-14.49.02 .mp4
He will usually fidget about for the first few minutes before he settles down as in the video above.
Vincent is gradually going back to his normal routine.
We had a CCTV-man over today, and Vincent was the perfect host, entertaining him and even rubbing himself all over the CCTV-man’s legs. Then, the door was left open, so Vincent went out and tried to go near Mr Zurik....

A few days after surgery
Hi Dr. Chan,
Greetings again.
First of all, thank you so much for your support on my 1st neutering.
I humbly request aid for the next neutering for a stray ginger male.
He was responsible for at least 10 kittens in my neighborhood.
He was neutered on 2nd October 2018 and was boarded with the vet for 1 day.
He was released back to his colony the day after.
He still came back for food on daily basis and so fa...

Indy Is Satisfied 8th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
After Indy had proven to me numerous times that he can successfully conquer the raised netting with complete ease (but a bit of noise), he seems to be quite content sleeping in the bottom floor of Pole’s condo.
This is good, because Indy does spray a little if he comes in. So, I hope he is happy with just occasional visits into the room. I know he likes to sit on my table whenever I do my work, but the spraying, Indy? That has to stop.
Never too close.
I guess some things don’t cha...

HOW Did Bunny Do It??? 8th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
There was a heavy thunderstorm in Subang Jaya yesterday evening.
Normally, we will let the two sprayers (Cow & Bunny) in (from the pantry to the room) whenever it rains. Cow is afraid of thunder. Bunny isn’t, but we let both of them in.
But yesterday, when the thunderstorm began, before we could do anything, Bunny was already calling us from the grille! He had come in all by himself. Of course Indy (he climbs and scales the newly reinforced netting), Pole and Cleo were already inside.

Vincent’s Sunday Raw Food Feasts 7th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent’s Sunday started with a feast of rabbit. I was afraid he might not eat it again, but he did, which is good, because I read that for kidney patients, rabbit and poultry are the preferred proteins.
I rotate among these Cubgrub flavours: Duck, Chicken and Rabbit. Vincent finally ate Quail as well, but Bunny doesn’t like it at all. So, I don’t think we would be buying Quail.
All the cats (including the Cow Clan, with no exceptions) also love Coco&Joe’s Turkey a...

Vincent’s Feasting Day! 6th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Today was Vincent’s feasting day! I had four meals and with each one, he wanted an assortment of raw food, cooked food, canned food and even the renal wetfood.
Looks like it’s kiasu-meal day today – Vincent “semua mau”!
Ginger, Heidi and Tabs looking at Vincent feasting away!
Today, for the first time EVER, Tabs ate some Cubgrub Duck!
Subcut went well today. We are still on 200ml.

As I Expected…. 6th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent went upstairs after breakfast and came down later, after an hour, to join me on my mat for stretches.
Then, he went out and as expected….
There, you ate too much just now, Vincent. Luckily I stopped you.
From the looks of the vomit, it’s all kibble. The cooked and raw food were not vomited out. That’s “good”.
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-co ntent/uploads/2018/10/4-vid.mp4
I think he was kind of looking for soil to eat, but I stopped him.
Vincent and Ginger...

A Big Feast In The Morning 6th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
I don’t know whether it’s good to eat “so” much first thing in the morning especially when you’ve just had a fairly good midnight snack!
But Vincent seemed hungry again this morning.
I started him with some cooked food (laced with probiotics and wheatgrass powder). Well, he loves the wheatgrass so there’s no need to hide that anywhere, but the probiotics is a challenge!
He ate up most of it.
Then, he had his favourite Cubgrub Duck.
Next, he heard Ginger having...

A Midnight Snack For Vincent 6th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Somehow I could not sleep so I got up and….
I could not find Vincent!
He wasn’t at his usual place at the ladder (not staircase, but the ladder that we keep upstairs, that’s his spot now).
I went downstairs to look everywhere, including the patio and he wasn’t anywhere to be found.
Not under our bed either.
I finally found him in Jia-Wen’s room!
Anyway, I thought he might be hungry so I went downstairs and he trotted down with me.
I love to see Vincent trotting!
Y...

A Chat With A Senior Vet 5th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
I went to purchase Vincent’s fluids, tube and needles today and had a good chat with the senior vet at the clinic.
We asked about Fortekor, how it works, what it does and if Semintra might be better. Semintra is known to produce much better results, but Fortekor has been THE drug for a long time. Vincent is currently on Fortekor. His vet advised that we start with this and see how it goes.
According to what I learnt today, Fortekor is a heart medicine too (as Vincent’s vet has ...

Vincent’s New Stash 5th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Our morning started at 4.45am.
Vincent went to his normal spot, to pee.
Oh, oh…what is he doing now?
Ginger seems to be helping to stop him.
Oh no! Another soil-stash!! I stopped him immediately.
And shooed him back into the house.
I do remember what the vet said. Perhaps Vincent is lacking of certain minerals so his natural instinct would be to “find” those minerals in the soil. The vet strongly suggests that I give Vincent the renal prescription diet (kibble) as t...

Vincent’s Subcut 4th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent was so cute during subcut today. He already knows the routine so well by now. When we put him on the towel, he turned to his side as though telling us that he prefers the subcut to be done this this side today!
Okay, here goes, Vincent…
He was a bit fidgety throughout and only lay towards the end.
Reward time – Vincent really loves this Duck recipe from Cubgrub.
My latest order today.
Everyone eats Cubgrub now except Heidi and Zurik.
Heidi used to love Cubgrub. I wonder ...

Vincent’s Morning 4th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
We started with C&J’s Turkey Recipe this morning, at 6am. Vincent and all the cats love this flavour (except for Heidi, who doesn’t eat raw anymore now, I don’t know why).
For your information, C&J’s Turkey Recipe contains chicken as well, so there is a protein mix in it already. This is a new recipe and they are going to launch it this weekend at a Matrade Cat Fair.
I mixed some wheatgrass and laced some probiotics into his turkey thinking the strong smell migh...
