Vincent’s Good Day! 13th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Yesterday was a setback-day for Vincent. Not only did he vomit twice, he also sneezed specks of blood again. During the start of the subcut, Vincent also coughed a few times. I was worried about this.
I texted the vet last night and the plan was to bring Vincent to her for a check-up today. For the sneezing, the vet said to apply the nose drop three times a day. The vet assured me that should there be fluids in the heart or lungs, it will not happen during the beginning of the subcut as it takes...

Neutering Aid For 1 Cat In Kuala Lumpur (Lam Poh Yin & Chan Sek Choo’s) 13th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
We have sponsored RM60 for the neutering of this cat.
Mdm Catherine Lam is assisted by Mdm Norvem Chan Sek Choo in her rescue work.
Dear Dr Chan,
Good Evening.
We wish to apply for neutering subsidy for 1 stray male cat, we named John, whom frequents our feeding area in Old Klang Road.
John will always fight with Rascal (neutered a few months ago) for female cats in heat. Unlike Rascal, he is usually the instigator and making the females run screaming for their lives.
Due to heavy financial bur...

Sewing Again! 12th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
I’m so excited because we have an order of a blanket!
Ahh…brings back real sweet memories of days gone by when my sewing assistants and I would sew late into the night.
Can’t wait to get it finished!
Am thinking of starting the auctions again. Would anyone be interested?
And yes, we need the funds!!

Vincent’s Setback 12th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Yesterday was not exactly a good day for Vincent.
After his fidgeting subcut, he also vomited under our bed. However, I did not get to see this vomit or examine its contents because our part-time cleaner was here and she cleared it up. When she informed me, I asked her and she said it was “banyak”.
Earlier on, I already noticed that Vincent was not keen in eating the raw food with the renal kibble (dry-blended) powder sprinkled on it. But The vet had said he should eat it because the...

Bunny Stank Up The Room!! 12th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
There was a huge Cow-Bunny screaming fight two days ago. In the photo above, Pole is checking out all the fur.
Cow is hiding at the wigwam, waiting to pounce on Bunny again.
Poor, poor Bunny. He is already 80% blind. But thankfully, he can stand his ground. And it’s actually “dangerous” to attack Bunny because he cannot see and he is known to simply flail his arms in the air. He could scratch anyone anywhere.
And Cow hasn’t learnt from his lesson last time with Indy. Co...

It’s Pawssible Neutering Campaign 11th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
The following news is from PAWS:
It’s Pawssible Neutering Campaign
In 2013, Berjaya Youth raised funds through the “It’s Pawssible” Charity Concert. These funds were to be used for neutering animals using the Mobile Animal Clinic which was also sponsored by B.Youth and Berjaya. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get approval for the use of the Mobile Clinic since then.
However, the good news is Berjaya has now agreed to open the funds so that it can be used for the n...

Fidgety Vincent 11th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent really made today’s subcut difficult.
He normally likes it done on his left side, but we have been doing on this side for many days now, and we are supposed to alternate the sides.
So, we decided to try the right side today.
But he became fidgety until he was moving all over, almost like turning around in a circle and flipping over (imagine how hard it was to keep the needle in place!). He even attempted to scratch his ear with that right leg. Yesterday, he also scratched, and I le...

Vincent’s Day 10th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent has been eating very well. His pinch test is actually very good (like any normal cat). The only thing is that, probably due to the rainy weather, he has been sneezing for the last 3 days.
Subcut.
Vincent’s vet asked if he is solely on renal food yet. I said no, because Vincent doesn’t like the renal food. He is willing to eat a bit of the wet renal food, but not the kibble. The vet said to dry-blend the kibble and sprinkle it onto his food.
So, I dry-blended a bit today.

Please Spare Me The Emotional Blackmail 9th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
We reject applications that are non-compliant or late. The policies are sent to every single applicant each time they write to request our financial aid. And this is regardless of how many times the person has applied to us.
So, the onus lies on the applicant to ensure that s/he submits compliant applications.
Sometimes, they don’t – If something is missing, we have to contact the applicant and ask for a re-submission – believe me this takes up MORE time than to process a compl...

Ginger’s “grass Is Greener” Whining 9th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Ginger was whining outside my room all morning. I’d already fed him his dim sum (kibble) twice. And he was still whining.
So I let him in.
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads/20 18/10/WhatsApp-Video-2018-10-09-at-06.08.33.mp4
Y es, this is all he wants.
He is quiet now.
I think Ginger thinks Bunny’s Place is a paradise for cats and he wished he could join the club.
The grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side, isn’t it? Even for cats.

Good Morning! 9th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Our day started at 3.45am.
Vincent slept beside me on the bed all night. It’s good that he has gained back so much confidence now.
We got up at 3.45am and Vincent had a feast of Cubgrub Rabbit (he doesn’t like it much now…oh dear), C&J Turkey and Cindy’s Tuna with Bonito Flakes. It was crazy…the amount he was able to eat!
Ginger lost to him. Even Bunny lost! Yes, EVEN Bunny.
I weighed him yesterday and he was 3.7kg. Didn’t weigh him today. His pi...
