Cushions, Cushions And More Cushions! 14th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
Ever since getting the first two cushions, one of which was meant for Vincent for his subcut sessions, we got more!
It seems to be true – the cats just love this velvety material.
Here’s another one for Vincent’s subcut.
But it isn’t big enough.
So, Pole got it instead.
And how come I don’t get a cushion?
But you have a car, Mr Zurik. A whole car!
I mean, Indy would love to have a car, but he has to settle for a cushion instead.

The “serial” Claimants 13th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
Yesterday, we wrote about “agents” who claim on behalf of others (usually the elderly or the non-literate). We cannot accept claims from such “agents” and we have already explained why.
Today, we talk about “serial claimants”.
Definition: Those who have claimed for years, and submits maximum claims every week, whom we have urged to please be independent.
We wish to inform the serial claimants that due to a shortage of funds, they are strongly advised that we m...

No “agents”, Please! 12th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
This is a gentle reminder to all applicants that we cannot accept third party requests. This has always been in our policies.
There are also those who act as proxies to other rescuers, taking on the role of an “agent”, offering to help these (normally non-literate) rescuers claim. This practice is not encouraged.
There is no need for the services of such “agents” as we have many non-literate applicants who have learnt how to use whatsapp voicemail to communicate with me a...

Vincent’s Back To Primal 12th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
I hit the jackpot this morning by getting Vincent’s breakfast right in the first try!
I “figured” it could be Primal today and YES!
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads/2 018/11/WhatsApp-Video-2018-11-12-at-05.00.39.mp4
I made a big bowl of Primal today.
Bought this new bowl yesterday, it is more rounded. Vincent has problems picking up food from the sides of his previous dish as it has a flat bottom.
After days of playing the “staring game”, we have a good...

Vincent’s New Subcut Cushion 11th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent’s first vet uses a velvety kind of cloth for subcut for her cat-patients. She says she had found that cats like that kind of material and usually would relax when placed on it. I had been looking for that material for Vincent but could not find any until….today.
Well, it wasn’t really the velvety cloth per se; it was a happy face sunny cushion, at Mr DIY’s.
We bought two. It’s made from the velvety material. One is for Vincent, the other is for Cow and Bun...

Something From 6 Years Ago… 11th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
It was in 2012 that Stephanie came to our booth at one of the events and I gave her my books.
A few weeks ago, Stephanie wrote to me. She has now opened her own petstore and is displaying my books there.
I was so touched! My books are now obsolete as I don’t intend to reprint them anymore. Most of the books have all been given out. The e-books are, of course, still available online.
Here are some photos sent by Stephanie:
Thank you so much, Stephanie! We wish you all the best in your new ...

Semintra For Vincent 10th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent almost finished his Fortekor and previously, even after a month on Fortekor, his proteinurea did not improve. So I decided that we should try Semintra especially when much good results have been touted with its use. Most vets say it works better than Fortekor, so let’s see if that works for Vincent too.
This tiny 30ml bottle costs a whopping RM236. It comes with a syringe that has calibrations in the weight of the cat and not in ml, which makes it so much easier for the user.
The ...

Being “entitled” 9th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
For the past few weeks, I had been talking to some of the present applicants who have been claiming our maximum of RM300 per week and also those who have been claiming for many years now, explaining to them our shortage of funds and asking if they would be willing to donate back RM10 a month to help us out during these dire times of need. After all, the money is all going to go back to them eventually.
If they can claim the maximum of RM300 per week, which amounts to RM1200 month, would they be ...

Cow Mau’s Desperate Attempts To Come In 9th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
There were fire crackers in the past few days and Cow Mau is very afraid of them. So, in his desperation, he chewed the netting and managed to squeeze through.
Of course he then stank up the room. It was urine sprays all over again.
Now with the fire cracker season over, I hope we can keep him outside in the pantry again. I really cannot afford to injure my back again!
If only we can find a way to tell him not to spray, but hey, he’s a super alpha and this is what he MUST do.

Vincent’s Updates (exploring New Ways) 9th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
Much has happened lately. I’ve been so, so busy that I haven’t even had time to update on Vincent’s news.
About two days ago, Vincent wet his bed (the Rosie Blanket). So of course, I had to change all the sheets and I replaced it with the Carebears blanket.
I don’t know if he felt bad or maybe the Carebears blanket still has Ginger’s scent (it’s been washed clean, but a cat’s sense of smell is 40 times more powerful than that of the human’s), Vince...
