Visiting Vincent This Morning (and The Kitten Next Door) 30th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
I made a fresh batch of steamed chicken this morning, to be taken to the clinic for Vincent.
The steamed chicken and 4 cans of Vincent’s (current) favourite food.
Here he is.
The vet said last night, he didn’t want to eat anymore. The videos posted yesterday were taken in the afternoon.
This morning, the vet placed a bowl of renal wet food for Vincent and he didn’t want to eat any of it.
Sigh…that’s Vincent’s style. He is VERY choosy when it comes to food.

Vincent Is Hospitalised, On IV (the Drip) 29th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
As planned, I came back from work and started packing Vincent’s medication and things.
He has to be on IV already because he simply could not eat anymore and is just intent on starving himself to death.
The thick drooling from his mouth is bad.
I packed all his medication plus the fluids (in case the vet can use them). Also, my daily recording of this medicine schedule.
Vincent was in his corner, drooling thick saliva.
Then, he went upstairs.
At around 11am, we took him to the vet&rsquo...

As a follow-up to the implementation of our new policies, so far, 13 “old” applicants have been informed that we can no longer continue sustaining their rescue work. They have also been given one month’s notice where they are still entitled to claim a maximum of two more times (subject to our weekly rate of RM200/week and subject to fund availability).
We call them, the “graduates”! And we strongly hope that whatever help we have given them will indeed “gradua...

Vincent Is Not Eating 29th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
I’m sorry I have to share bad news this morning. Vincent is refusing food.
He spent the whole night at the patio. This morning, I made boiled chicken for him and included the parts he likes, but he did not want to eat anything. His last meal was yesterday morning.
I even locked Ginger up in the room before serving Vincent so that Ginger won’t be a source of intimidation for him. But that did not work too.
Last night, I discussed with the vet if IV-drip might help Vincent feel bette...

Short-Lived Joy (Vincent Refuses To Eat) 28th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
It wasn’t a “start” of something…sigh. It was just short-lived joy – that Vincent ate the boiled and steamed chicken.
As soon as the supermarket opened, I went to buy various part of the chicken thinking that’s what he wants to eat. It also dawned on me why he might want to eat bone – could it be because he felt he needed bone marrow to make red blood cells? Maybe animals just know.
I was so excited, and came home armed with chickcn carcass, chicken rib...

An Early Morning Trip To The Wet Market And Vincent Eats!! 28th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
I didn’t have any chicken in the freezer this morning.
It was 4am that I started preparing everyone’s food.
Vincent was upstairs. The only thing I had, closest to unprocessed chicken was the catfood I made two days ago (but this has added taurine, Vit E, bone meal, fish oil, B Complex and Lite Salt). I figured I’d just have to try and see if Vincent is willing to eat it. So I took out one container to thaw.
I think I got it all figured out. Vincent associates smells and food wi...

And Vincent Eats Supper! 27th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
When we came back from taiji tonight, Vincent was at the patio.
I fed the cats and Vincent came into the kitchen too but walked out soon after.
There was quite a bit of chicken left and I had kept it in the fridge. So I took it out and warmed it up.
And I gave it nonchalantly to Vincent at the patio.
Initially Vincent thought it was going to be some processed or canned food (again?). I think he has developed a repulsion towards all these foods because I had used every available food in the house...

Cow Conquers The Room! 27th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
We haven’t figured out how Cow manages to come into the room.
But when he comes in, three things happen: (1) The girls go out, (2) Cow sprays (sigh) and (3) I have to wipe up his sprays and today, my back starting hurting again. Oh no…this cannot happen. I’ve suffered from that excruciating backache for months and finally got it totally cured and now…again? No, No, No!
I cannot be lazy. Would have to do my stretches again.
Anyway, when Cow comes in…
Cleo protes...

Vincent Eats At His Favourite Patch 27th Nov 2018, by AnimalCare
After the happy moments this morning, it was back to square one again – Vincent refused to eat…again.
I was almost out of ideas. Then, I thought since he was attracted to the aroma of the catfood this morning, why don’t I make chicken soup for him? Doesn’t hurt to try, right?
So I drove out this afternoon and bought a piece of chicken carcass and one whole leg. Came home and made “plain” chicken soup with carrots and salt. Nothing else was added, keeping is c...
