Vincent’s Day – New Foods! 14th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Lunch at 1pm – Monge and Cubgrub.
Tabs gets some extras before this is served to the Cow Clan.
Subcut as usual.
I ordered two new flavours of Monge for Vincent, in preparation for his “change” of appetite. These would be two flavours I haven’t ordered for years – Chicken Squid and Tuna Salmon. Both were not popular with our cats previously.
Dinner at 5.30pm – tried the Chicken Squid first.
Okay, but not too crazy about it.
Then, I tried the Tuna Salmon. W...

The Meeting Of Old Friends – Vincent And Zurik 14th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent and Zurik’s friendship goes back to 2013. Vincent first came to our patio in January 2013 while Mr Zurik came a few months later.
Vincent came with Willy on the very same day, but Vincent managed to keep Willy out. From then on, Vincent became our soldier and patrol guard. So when Mr Zurik bulldozed his way into the patio a few months later, Vincent made it his life’s mission to drive Mr Zurik out.
But Mr Zurik is a KGB-trained cat, so Vincent’s mission lasted for years...

Neutering Aid For 2 Dogs In Kepong (Gaorii Yoong Yen Cher’s) 14th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
We have provided an aid for RM200 for the neutering of these 2 dogs.
Hello Dr Chan,
I would like to apply for the neutering subsidy for 2 female puppies.
They are part of a litter of 6 puppies (3 male, 3 female) found in the morning market in Kepong. Their mum is nowhere to be found, and they’re extremely malnutrition. According to the vet, the malnutrition has caused one of the female pups to have severely crooked/angular legs.
All 6 of the pups are now dewormed, vaccinated and...

Vincent’s Photo Shoot And Reflections On Bunny’s “condition” 14th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
I’ll start with yesterday’s lunch.
Vincent asked for food at 1pm. Still Monge season.
Again at 1.40pm. And again at 2.45pm (I did not get to monitor this as I had to rush out for an errand, but the plate was polished clean when I returned – could be the work of Heidi or Ginger, or both).
Dinner at 5pm, but Vincent didn’t want Monge so much anymore. I tried Cindy’s Tuna and Chicken and yes!
Oh oh…does this mean Monge season is coming to an end and I&r...

A Homeless Man And His 4 Loyal Friends 14th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
What a wonderful world it is: https://www.businessinsider.com.au/homele ss-mans-dogs-wait-at-hospital-2018-12
I totally and completely agree with the comment that “Dogs are too good for this world”. They are. They are.
César said he sometimes doesn’t eat and instead gives his food to his furry friends, Mamprim shared on Facebook. “A simple person, without luxury, who depends on help to overcome the hunger, the cold, the pain, the evils of the world...

Vincent’s Morning 13th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent came upstairs to greet me this morning!
Breakfast at 5.30am this morning.
Vincent was willing to eat a bit of Cubgrub too!
It’s still Monge season today! And just these two flavours.
And some renal kibble as well.
Then, it’s back to Vincent’s Hide-Away for a nap.
How about a photo for all your fans, Vincent?
His eyes look much brighter again.
We have gone through so many hurdles, haven’t we, Vincent?
I restarted Orozyme today. It’s to help with the mou...

A Parting Gift From A Long-Time Applicant, Ms Nujtiya Chareansouk 13th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
We first started helping Ms Nujtiya Chareansouk in February 2013 when she wrote in to enquire if we could help with our neutering aid for the dogs that her mum, Mdm Lim Tiang Seouk, looks after in Kangar, Perlis.
We assisted not only in neutering but also through our food donation. When our food donation ended, one of our readers continued supporting Mdm Lim with food donation for another year.
Nujtiya then went on to help the dogs in Johor, where she and her husband reside. We continued assisti...

Vincent’s Feasts 12th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
After breakfast this morning, Vincent had a long, long nap. I believe these long and restful naps are really good for him. It’s very nice seeing him being able to sleep in a recumbent position instead of the meatloaf pose.
Today, it was canned food all the way for Vincent.
I’m so, so glad there was no vomiting today. None.
Lunch at 12.40pm.
Lunch consisted of Monge’s Chicken, Omelette, White Bait.
Then Tabs asked for Cindy’s Tuna with Chicken.
Vincent wanted that too!...

Breakfast! 12th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
There was no vomiting all of last night and I was so, so relieved. Vincent also looked better. I guess the vomiting could have been due to the raw liver that he gorged up two days ago. He loves raw liver, but it looks like he may have problems with it now.
This morning, freshly steamed fish and chicken essence for Vincent!
But he didn’t want any this morning…. Oh dear….
Oh no, no, no…. What do you want, Vincent?
He didn’t look too well too. Not as well as l...

So Far, So Good (Vincent’s Day) 11th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Since I was up so early, I took the opportunity to drive to PJ for a session of Stretch Therapy. Haven’t been for a few weeks now. The limbs and muscles do need to be stretched!
When I came home, Vincent asked for food. Thankfully, there was no vomit anywhere except for some bile in his hide-away.
I steamed fish for him, but he would only eat after a placed some renal kibble onto the food. Good that he can eat!

Just Six Little Granules, Vincent… 11th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent vomited some liquid slightly after midnight. I was so exhausted yesterday, I slept “early” (earlier than usual, that is).
Vincent did come to wake me up before he vomited, though.
I could not really go back to sleep after that as I was thinking about somehow giving Vincent those 6 little granules of antacid, which might help with the gastritis, if indeed it is gastritis that is causing the vomiting.
Again, we suspect his kidney disease has deteriorated to cause uremia, which ...

Vincent’s Lunch Onwards 10th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
In unison: We are waiting for lunch.
I had just returned from the supermarket with fresh sardines and found that Vincent had vomited again…sigh. So, a thought occurred to me, what if the sardines are causing him to vomit?
So, I decided to give him canned food instead. Vincent has not eaten canned food for a long time, at least 3 weeks or so. He was unwilling to eat it, anyway.
But let’s try….
Vincent’s favourite: Cindy’s Tender Chicken – CHECKED! Yes...
