Vincent’s Updates 13th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
Some quick updates, Vincent is okay except that he is a bit choosy over food….again. For a long time, he has been okay with food. Now, he has started being choosy again.
See what I mean?
He flits from one type of food to the next, asks for another type, and another, then flits back to the first type (which is always Cubgrub), and it goes on, but finally, he eats a fair amount of food for each meal, so that is fine.
As for this meds, actually, the only medicine is Forteko...

Indy’s Story Of The Purple Bed 13th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
If you remember, Cow and Bunny came into the room and pee-ed on these two cat beds (which used to be Pole’s favourites). I washed them many times, but a cat’s sense of smell is 40 times that of a human’s, so of course I could not get rid of the smell totally.
Pole stopped sleeping on the beds. I took out the cushions and washed from repeatedly hoping to reduce the smell. But the bed itself was harder to wash.
The other day, Pole found a use for the purple bed. She started...

When? Pray Tell, When? 13th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s being done in so many countries. Animal lovers know this is THE way. Organisations are actively doing it.
When? When? When are our authorities going to make the council by-laws more street animal-friendly and allow neutered (ear-notched) animals to live on? Is there any hope with this new government?
It is sometimes just so incredibly frustrating when animal lovers do so much to help street animals only to have a single selfish human-ignoramus make a complaint and the neutered and car...

Pacifying Ginger 9th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
Ginger has been so jealous of all the attention that Vincent has been receiving.
Tidur terus!!!
Ginger thrives on attention!!
Ginger, between “attention” and “food (especially your dim sum)”, which would you choose?
Ginger: Ooooh…I don’t know….I think I just want to go sit under the car….

Thank You, Madam! (and Hello, Beautiful People!) 9th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
This made my day!
You know how we have been identifying applicants to be graduated? Thanks to the invaluable help of a friend who voluntarily offered to help me out, our exercise began last November and so far, quite a number of applicants have been graduated. Some of them have been applying to us for 5 years now!
As stated in our previous blogposts, we do not want to create a culture of dependency for anyone. It is unhealthy. Any self-respecting individual would also like very much to be indepe...

Vincent’s Morning 9th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
Vincent has been mischievous lately – but this is all good!
He slept on my feet last night, maximising the use of the cotton bedspread for himself – smart fellow! Then, as usual, he came to sleep on my pillow at about 5am – that’s my wake-up call.
When we came downstairs, Vincent went straight to Stargate2. Buddy was already there. Of course Vincent wanted to go out, but no, I’m not going to be tricked for a second time. No, no.
Breakfast, Vincent. In the kitchen, p...

Oh No! Vincent Escaped!! 8th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
This morning, Vincent tricked me!!
He came downstairs very happily but wasn’t quite interested in eating. He just wanted to go to Stargate2, so I let him. He wouldn’t budge from there.
Only Buddy was here. Zurik wasn’t here yet. I served Vincent at Stargate2 while the rest ate in the kitchen. Vincent ate a fair amount then he indicated to me that he wanted to go out.
I thought he wanted to just meet Zurik and Buddy, which he does sometimes, so I let him out.
Oh no!!
The ...

Oh, The Subcut Is Already Over? 7th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
We had a great day today!
First thing after breakfast, I took Vincent to the park. Did not bring my phone, so no photos were taken. He didn’t make any attempts to run. Not at all.
Then, he hung out with Zurik.
Vincent no longer hides in the the middle of the bed. Now, he sits at the sides so that we can get him out easily, if there is a need to. In fact, when my husband tried to get him out this morning, Vincent actually moved closer to the side so that it’s easier for my hus...

The Super Short Pink Wonder!! (Vincent’s Subcut And Some Reflections) 7th Jan 2019, by AnimalCare
Look at this!!
This super short pink wonder of a needle (Nipro 18G 1 inch) has literally “revolutionalise” our daily subcut sessions!
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uplo ads/2019/01/WhatsApp-Video-2019-01-06-at-17.22.45. mp4
The hole is big enough to enable the fluids to flow so fast that it only takes 3 minutes flat to do 250ml of subcut fluids.
The other needles take 14-15 minutes to complete the process and it is not easy getting a cat or dog to sit still for this duration, ...
