Over the years in Malaysia, forest fragmentation caused by the changes in human land use activities has been a main concern for sustainability 🌎. Activities such as illegal wildlife hunting and the collection of highly valuable agarwood, commercial logging, land conversion and infrastructure development has left us with far less forest area than we initially had 🙅♂️. How much more can we take from our forests before it is too late ? 🌿

"The six-year Congo Basin Sustainable Landscapes Program will address the drivers of forest loss and degradation in the region.
The program will work to create a better enabling environment for forest governance, support land use planning, strengthen the management and financing of protected areas, and decrease the impacts of natural resource use by local communities and the private sector."

“Even more alarming is the fact that these plants are located close to residential areas, and the emissions from the waste could cause serious health problems for the people living there.
E-waste, which is in the “scheduled waste” – waste which is intractable and difficult to dispose of without special technology – could also have an adverse impact on the environment, contaminating natural resources as well as aqua and marine life.”
