Tapirs - our favourite gardeners of the forests that play a very important role in maintaining the biodiversity of tropical ecosystems. π¨πΌβπΎπ©π»βπΎ
These cute mammals have visible trunks. They are actually related to horses and rhinoceroses, and their feet have hooves.
The trunk, which they use to grab branches and pluck fruits, making them herbivorous. Their diet includes shoots, leaves, grasses, fruits and nuts.

A favourite from Malaysiansβ childhoods, the small yet clever creature is actually a Lesser #MouseDeer! π¦π²

(Toxodera beieri) of Malaysia is said to get its rather fascinating name from its resemblance to mythical Chinese dragons. π²
