URGENT UPDATE ON RABIES ISSUE
Dear all,
First of all, thank you to everyone who has played their part in helping to tackle the rabies issue. According to the Department of Veterinary Services ("DVS"), the rabies cases are all under control with the last known case of rabies in Malaysia on the 21st of September 2015.

So far, we have received RM3,455 in donations for rabies vaccinations for the dogs and cats here at our shelter. We are currently at 29% of our goal of RM12,000. Thank you so much to our kind donors, and please allow us a few days to issue you your receipts.

Dear all,
In light of the rabies outbreak in Penang, Kedah and Perlis, PAWS will now be administering rabies vaccines for all animals surrendered to us. To cover the costs of these vaccinations, we will be imposing an additional charge of RM25 for every animal surrendered to us starting today (21st September 2015).
To clarify, our updated surrender fees are as below:-
Adult dog: RM75 (RM50 surrender + RM25 rabies vaccine)
Puppy: RM105 (RM80 surrender + RM25 rabies vaccine)

Before they receive their full vaccinations, our dogs have to be kept in cages to reduce the risk of disease spreading. They are then neutered after their vaccinations have been complete, after which they will spend another 10 days in their cages to fully recover.
Today, these puppies have all recovered from their surgeries and were introduced to each other for the first time. Look at how well they get along! And how happy they all are to be able to run around again! Truly heartwarming ❤️
