1.Please see attached MBSJ and MBPJ by-laws on canines. Both are identical and if you go through the by-laws you will notice that only licensed dogs are ‘accepted’ by the authorities. Hence, even pet dogs that are not licensed are in danger. According to these provisions, you will note that there is no place for street dogs at all.

All this escapades with dog catchers bring to our memory an episode in 2012. The home of one of a rescuer was ambushed because she had 30 over dogs, tgat she was caring for, there. However, the then MPSJ only ambushed after issuing her six compounds over a period of time. They arrived with a huge team including their enforcement officers and the police and cut through the gates to come in and seize the dogs. Lao Wang went for a follow-up at Gasing today. He had a swelling in his jaw which is getting smaller with medication. This was the vet's report to us.
"We have checked Lao Wang under sedation yesterday. The swelling seem to have reduced in size, and we did not find any connection to any teeth at this point of time .

Yesterday Marley, our recent rescue with a huge tumour on her side, started breathing funny. Then she started bleeding from her private part. Thanks to our capable staff, they immediately did the necessary first aid and Bailey expelled a dead puppy! Our staff have confirmed there was only one puppy inside which appears to have been dead and stuck inside for quite a while. Marley haf gone to several vetetinary facilities and had tests and scans but this was not 'caught' at all.

WHEN MDDB was kickstarted 15 years ago, two-year-old Shamini Popiko Sasha Woof was our poster doggo. We even had T-shirts made for our volunteers with her photo imprinted. She even 'blogged' for us when we started writing about MDDB. Two days ago, Popiko who would have turned 17 passed away due to old age. It was a great journey for us with the vocal and happy-go-lucky girl. Rest in peace SPS. You will always remain an important part of MDDB.

Remember Marley – the doggo that was limping around on the streets with a huge lump on its side? We sent her to UPM where it was discovered that the lump was cancerous but the oncologist decided not to operate and the reasons given make sense, Hence, we will be taking care of Marley palliatively until her time comes. This is what was conveyed to us:

In regards to Mr Patrick Khoo’s case – as well as some other issues - here are some things that we want to share. We’ll put it in point form for easy reading.
1.Firstly, the council dog catching team was indeed doing its job but it carried out its duties in an unacceptable and violent manner.

We audited our performance for the first quarter of 2023 from Jan to March and have rescued or received a grand total of nine cases. This works-up to three cases a month and combined with the help we have rendered independent rescuers - MDDB has done quite well so far.
