SAD SAD SITUATION 12th Aug 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Its sad to note that our society is evolving into one that is lacking in compassion - we were rankled to learn from an independent rescuer friend about an MKA certified purebred Labrador that a wealthy family acquired for more than RM2,000 which they decided to euthanize recently for a whimsy reason. They had sent it to a shelter for the job to be done. Here's what she says:
"I was asked by a friend to help her rehome the dog because the children had lost interest in the dog and it was negle...

PLEASE HELP REX 9th Aug 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
This handsome dog Rex was rescued and adopted by a nice family but he has bitten the family members who now think they cannot handle him.
There is contemplation to put him to sleep. One of our independent rescuer friends was instrumental in Rex's adoption and rehoming is rankled with what had happened. The family cannot be blamed because they kept him in spite of him biting two members not long ago. They also take him for walks twice a day.
We notice that he has not been neutered and male d...

Mimi Chitta's human family called to say that there was a puppy which had fractured three of its legs. But from the picture, we think only two of its hind legs are fractured.Apparently the puppy had been just lying there for several days. We have asked them to take in the puppy and now need to collect it to be sent to our panel vet. We also want to send MIMI Chitta's mother back at the same time. Any volunteers? Please call 019-3576477.

CAR PARK PUPPY IN NEED OF URGENT HELP 9th Aug 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Grotty is one of the car park pups that Bavani has been trying to rescue. A car ran over his paw sometime last week nearly splitting the end into two.
There is possibility of nerve damage and if there is, the leg would be rendered useless and Grotty would end-up dragging the limb around.
Currently, he has been admitted to the veterinary clinic where he is being first treated for the wound before the vets determine if there is indeed nerve damage or even paralysis. In the event there is, t...

PLEASE HELP US HELP TASHI 6th Aug 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
This is Tashi and she is a stray.Tashi is currently heavily pregnant and hangs around outside the house where she gets her daily meals in Bandar Sg Long. The person who wants to help Tashi cannot take her in because she is already overloaded with six dogs. From her looks – the forehead, nose area and nails – we can see that she is shar pei cross. Sadly this means Tashi is a product of human inconsideration whereby an unneutered male shar pei must have probably be let loose to sow his blo...

MIMI CHITTA, MUMMY AND MEI CHEEWhen we received a call this morning informing us that Chitta and broken free and was running wild in SS17 Subang Jaya, we were at our wits end.Apparently she had broken free from her leash when the vet had taken her for her routine morning walk.We know for a fact that being Sunday, the traffic in that area would be very heavy and worried that the worst could happen to Chitta.Luckily for us the clinic had also called Dr Chan Kah Yein from Animalcare who immediatel...

According to our vet the TVT is quite bad as it had eaten-up almost the entire vulva. She has been given the first of a series of injections to arrest the infection. PLEASE HELP US HELP THESE UNFORTUNATE DOGS 28th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear people,we are once again appealing to your generosity to help us help these unfortunate dogs currently being treated at MDDB panel vets. We must confess that this is the first time that we are handling so many surgical cases at the same time. Currently we have to raise funds to pay for the surgery carried out on:1) Napoleon - the little boy rescued from Kepong from Chong whose torso was badly burnt believed by hot oil or water. He has undergone his first surgery and is d...

NASTY PEOPLE 26th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
More evidence is cropping up that Chitta's attack was prompted by the suspect who cannot tolerate dogs. Yesterday local council dog catchers went to the area and caught five of several dogs that were being fed by the residents there. These were the dogs that we had plans to TNRM as there were already people feeding and caring from them. These dogs were living behind Chitta's house and were probably her friends. We called up and the council people us that they had received a complaint from someon...

LOOKS LIKE MR T DOES NOT HAVE CANCER. 26th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
MR T, looking lost but healed when we visited him today.Remember this fellow who came to us with maggot spilling from his face? There were four tumours on his face and a hole from the nose to the top of his upper gum. Due to the extent of the damage, the vet thought that it was cancer but after initial treatment the holes in the face have closed-up and the dog, we've taken the liberty to name Mr T, is also eating well. So, we think that it was purely long untreated maggot wound which had r...

OLD GIRL NEEDS A PLACE TO FINISH HER TWILIGHT YEARS 26th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
We rescued this old girl several months ago wandering in Taman Tun. She was initially doing well but is in the decline and we think it is because of being locked up in the clinic and having only the walls to stare at. We visited her today and could feel her sadness and misery. So we are appealing for someone to give this old girl whom we call Auntie Sweetie a home or at least a foster home. Seeing her depressed is upsetting us - please help our Auntie Sweetie.

PLEASE PRAY FOR PUPPY'S SURVIVAL 26th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
At the clinic todayThis poor little puppy rescued by Mr Chong in Kepong is currently under our care. It was brought to our panel clinic by Mr Chong today and we admitted the puppy. After examining the pup, our vet told us that about 40 % of its tissue is exposed and if left like that the puppy will probably die within a few days. The vet explained that in cases such as this death usually occurs due to infection which leads to blood poisoning. So, we agreed that some radical measures are ta...

CHITTA AT THE CLINIC TODAY.We went to visit CITTA today and were happy to see that she is doing well. CITTA is doing great and is eating if food is first put into her mouth to allow her to taste. Rena went to visit here today with some steamed chicken which Chitta gulped down. She even ate some kibbles after that. The vet says that Citta is doing fine and is adjusting well to her disability. Here are some pics taken by Dr Chan who had also gone to the clinic today. Thanks KY for keeping an eye on Citta for us.
