Supergirl Khapi's surgery went on well. Pix of x-ray after surgery attached. But she's being a naughty girl. Message from vet:
khapi post-operative condition: she has the tendency to chew off the suture. Have resutured her twice. Currently she is able to stand on 4 legs but still not very stable. We suggest to keep her until she is more stable before sending home. Today is day 4 post surgery. Otherwise, she is doing fine.

As you all witnessed, we have to move as a particular Adun and a few of her supporters have taken offence to us posting the reason why we have to move fast. It is a huge mental torture to know that your old and disabled dogs are not safe. It is also very troubling to know that visits, without informing us prior, are also being made and this agitates our dogs. Please help us move as early as possible. We will be very grateful.

as you all know, were are in the process of vacating our Petaling Jaya half-way-home because of a notice from MBPJ due to a complaint from a neighbour. MBPJ has to be pro-active because the complainant had also gone to the Kampung Tunku Adun's office. We are truly saddened that the doggo rescued yesterday did not make it. It died last night. Our only consolation is that it died warm and comfortable and not wet and drenched in the drain. We were told the dog was abused as there were signs that it's limbs were tied. It is difficult to fathom that there are some humans who can resort to such cruelty. Rest in peace doggo.

Residents in a housing area in Shah Alam are trapping dogs and sending them to the local council. This dog was caught and sent to the pound and when its feeder went to get it out, she was told she would be given the dog only if an NGO takes it in. We gave a letter saying that we would take the dog and once it was busted out if the pound, doggo was sent to vet for neutering, vaccinations and one month quarantine. When it rains, it pours. Our superheroine Khapi, who jumped a wall and trashed her legs, needs an expensive surgery. 😭😭😭Herewith message from the vet:
Dr GAN LITTLE PAWS: Khapi - both hindlimbs has problem. Left hindlimb: fracture at the mid shaft of femur. Right hindlimb: coxofemoral luxation. Both surgeries cost about Rm6k including hospitalization 2-3 days and post-operation pin removal.

SOS SOS SOS. One of our volunteers who was on her feeding rounds came upon this dog in Shah Alam. Dog was hit by vehicle and legs are severely fractured. A few more of our volunteers are rushing there to rescue doggo and taking to Gasing. As per Gasing policy, we have to pay a deposit upfront. Since the fracture is bad, we also need to raise enough to cover the initial diagnostics such as X-ray and blood test.
