Cleanliness Is Very Crucial When Running A Shelter.. 9th Jul 2022, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Cleanliness is very crucial when running a shelter. It is utterly horrid when a shelter smells like a gigantic toilet bowl. Hence, it is important to have sufficient volunteers and workers to ensure the place is kept clean and stink free. Work at the MDDB sanctuary involves washing the floors and drains daily. Since all our doggo enclosures, dorms and rest areas have fans - our workers also have to wipe them clean weekly. The grass is also kept short to prevent creepy crawlies from seeking refug...

LOST DOGS. IF YOU ARE AN INDEPENDANT RESCUER WHO HAS OVERZEALOUSLY 'rescued' these dogs, please return them. Rescuing animals is fast becoming a hobby with many rescuer wannabes creating havoc. Recently one removed a poodle from someone's house and demanded for money, amounting to more than RM10000 for the dog to be returned claiming the owner was not keeping the dog well which was an unsubstantiated allegation. These wannabes are running wild on Instagram and Tik Tok. RETURN THESE DOGS NOW IF Y...

Thank You All. Fundraising Stopped. Amount Achieve.. 6th Jul 2022, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear the Ipoh rescuer and TNRM practitioner has reached out to us again. The local council has once again caught 15 dogs. But in Ipoh, street dogs that are neutered and marked with the Ipoh SPCA are not caught. So everytime she bails them out, she neuters them, puts on the collar and manages them. She has RM2K with her but she needs to use that to discharge some other dogs that are being neutered. To make matters worse, her profile has been locked by FB for 22 days after she shared a post deemed...

We Receive Quite Frequent Calls Asking Us To Take .. 5th Jul 2022, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
We receive quite frequent calls asking us to take in senior dogs. Excuses given are that the owner is sick and he or she cannot take care of the dog anymore. Today we received a call from someone who wanted to give away her parents’ dog because they were ailing. She said the dog too had health problems. Sometimes children, even if living in separate homes, can put in a little effort to ensure their parents’ pet lives with them. Having pets is the best form of therapy for elderly people. All ...

ANIMAL cruelty, although not given as much attention as child abuse or wife battery, is one of the issues plaguing our society.
Common forms of animal abuse range from wanton beating, starvation, maiming, and cramped and filthy living conditions to the extreme of painfully killing them for the cooking pot.
What's disturbing is the discovery that animals fall prey to abuse mainly...
