Happy World Wetlands Day!
Wetlands are considered some of the most productive habitats on the planet. Other than being the world's natural water filters, shock absorbers which minimize impacts from flooding and drought, they are also home to more than 100,000 freshwater species!
Sadly, 64% of the world's wetlands have been degraded since 1900 due to pollution, climate change and other anthropogenic activities, and the degradation continues until today.

Dari Benci Jadi Sayang, Ikuti Bagaimana Terpupuk S.. 30th Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
Menurut Tuanku Sultan Kedah (mulai 3:40):

Galapagos Tortoises Are Born Naturally For The Fir.. 24th Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
" After more than a century, tortoises are once again hatching on the Galapagos Islands following the eradication of local 'pirate' rats.
Black rats on Pinzon Island - also known as Duncan island - had pushed the giant tortoises to the brink of extinction as they were feasting on their eggs.
Now the critically endangered Duncan Island Giant Tortoise, Chelonoidis duncanensis, have been born naturally on an island in a 'significant' breakthrough. " :D

Walaupun Kami Difahamkan Bahawa Penggunaan Taut Ti.. 15th Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia

Nak Tunggu Sampai Semua Pupus Baru Nak Bertindak? .. 13th Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
“Kokurikulum di sekolah perlu mula mengajar mengenai sivik, tentang alam sekitar, beg plastik, sungai dan sebagainya. Itu semua perlu bermula di sekolah.
"Kalau tidak, kita tidak akan ke mana-manalah. Tak ada perasaan buang sampah. Tak ada perasaan bunuh haiwan. Sebab, kita tak peduli,” katanya.

BASF Kids Fun Day @ Gebeng 3rd Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
On 1st December 2018, we were invited by BASF Gebeng and MNS Pahang to co-organise a Kids Fun Day. We had a turtle mosaic making session, and kids had fun colouring their 3D turtle paper maches. Good thing that the weather held up for us! We're pleased to be able to share about our turtle conservation work to an audience we would not normally meet, i.e. those in the oil and gas industry. Hopefully the participants benefitted in one way or another that day, and will use the knowledge to make bett...

2018 Had Been An Amazing Year For Us We Received A.. 1st Jan 2019, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
2018 had been an amazing year for us! We received a small grant to do a survey, from which we found a small population of terrapins in a location that had not been documented. And then we scored a bigger grant for a two-year awareness programmes. The "Turtles of Malaysia" brochure that we had been working on for 1.5 years was finally published, and received very good responses too! We met very kind and generous people, and went on to produce a terrapin conservation calendar that we're very proud...
