Have you ever wondered how the hatchlings come out by themselves from the egg🤔?
Turtle hatchlings use caruncle below their snout to make an opening for their release. The caruncle then eventually breaks down as the hatchlings grow😲.

Gol Benus Bird Camp dan Kolej Pengajian Alam Bina - KAB Universiti Teknologi MARA , dan ditaja oleh Tabung Amanah Konservasi Sumber Asli Nasional (NCTF), Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES).

Are you hearing the cracking sound???
Yessssssss🥳 because the hatching season has arrived.
We incubated 1519 terrapin eggs this year and the first terrapin egg successfully hatched on 7th of April🥹.
Now, we have more than 550 baby terrapins happily swimming in our pond.
Guess what?? There are more to go!!! 😉

TCS was invited to the Earth Day Celebration of Sri KDU International School on 24th April 2024.
Fun activities such as turtle talk, storytelling, making turtle craft and various of animal origami kept the students engaged and excited throughout the program.

We’ve been running a symbolic adoption programme at The British International School of Kuala Lumpur for a whole week and it's been awesome! 🤩

So many things are happening at the same time!
The nesting season is still on-going, and so far, we have collected more than 1,400 river terrapin eggs! And that's a new record for the project!
At the same time, we're resuming our monthly river patrols to remove discarded/abandoned fishing gear.
